I'm deciding whether to buy an iPhone SE or wait for the Pixel 4a. One of the things that will sway my decision is lock screen notifications.

I'm not a fan of AOD, so my chosen phone would have to at least have some way of notifying me of a text message or similar without me interacting with the phone.

In the past, the LED would do a grand job of this, but I believe these are being phased out in favor of AOD in most phones including the Pixel.

Can any pixel owners advise of the options within the settings?

Is it possible to recover a data from locked android phone Samsung Galaxy A6+? [No root, OEM locked, ADB disabled]

I have a Samsung fast wireless charger. Even if I disabled fast charging on my device, my phone still gets relatively hot even after it gets past 80%. It's different with wired charging. The temperature of my phone is normal even when it's charging super fast. So, is wireless charging detrimental to battery health VS wired charging?

When the Grim Reaper of Google Play visited me and how the coronavirus got me banned from Google Play for life.

The lock-downs just started and I had nothing to do. I figured I'd make some apps, maybe a few with different news niches. I logged into AppYet (a popular RSS news app maker) and whipped up some news apps on many different topics. Over 10 news apps including topics: Cryptocurrency, Investing, Brain teasers, Business, Outdoors, Coupons, Parenting advise, etc.

I was proud of my creations, I created Admob IDs for each one and uploaded them to my Google Play Console account. All at the same time! Suddenly one got a suspension, and then another. The dreaded Google compliance bot saw a news article about the coronavirus and laid the smack down on me. I panicked, hoping I could stop anymore from being reviewed. But it was too late, all were in review status. Four more apps tripped the bots heavy hand and I got a total of 7 suspensions. More than enough to get terminated.

I appealed each one of them and a few got overturned. A few days went by and I thought I dodged a bullet. I went to my favorite App Inventor website Kodular and whipped out a few custom apps. One of which was for a patriotic t-shirt store. Uploaded them with confidence. With hopes high, I went to bed.

The next morning my apps disappeared and I couldn't log into my account. Google sent an email saying my account was terminated and not to bother opening a new one. I have been banned for life!

Google play has always been easiest to get into for new app developers. That's why app quality has always been a mixed bag. Because of how easy it is, there is way more apps submitted than any human can handle. The Google Play bot plays cop, jury, and executioner. Without pity or mercy.

I have heard many people argue the dangers of IA. But now I realize we're all doomed. If the rules are so harsh as not to take into account the circumstances then we are guilty. In an AI society everything is at risk, your Jobs, Healthcare, Retirement and even our very freedom!

I sent an appeal to Google's automated appeal system and was denied. By an AI or a remote human who has mere seconds to judge the merits of the appeal. I have sent additional appeals but nothing, no response or email. I recorded a video and took to Twitter, but to no help.

Let this be a warning. The Google Play bot doesn't play. Upload only one app at a time and wait till it's approved. Be careful if current events may make your app politically incorrect. Don't associate your account with anyone else, you could be banned through association. I can no longer access Google Play even for other businesses or I'll get their business banned too. Finally even with Admob advertising, don't use ads on apps aimed at kids. Even if it's slips through Admob, it's still your fault, you will get suspended.

Hello, I've read there is a 4GB limit when recording video. That probably explains why the video I was recording at HD720 stopped at 52:42 and the file size was 4.1G.
I'm interested in making a full-one-hour 'selfie' video. I'm trying to keep the file size to a minimum, but for quality purposes 720 is the lowest acceptable setting. My question, does anyone know of a way or setting adjustment that would help reduce the overall size?
I've also read the selfie lens is wide-angle. I don't need it to be, so if i could somehow change the lens to normal it would help reduce the data.

Hello-- I'm wondering if there is a personal dictionary on the S20. When I voice type my dog's name, Koa, it always changes it to either koala or co-op. Any suggestions on fixing this? And yes, I am speaking clearly!!

Im able to read 4 languages and playstore wont even let me choose to see reviews in other languages then my own? What the hell is up with that? Internet is global ffs.. Or am i missing somthing here and making a fool of myself?
Yea i can change system language, vpn and so on but thats not the point, why restric stuff like this..

Hello All,
I have a Galaxy Note 4 that I love. It is running Android 6.0.1 operating system, which Google no longer provides updates for. IMHO, Google's cessation of support for my phone's OS is an attempt to force me to buy a new phone, similar to Apple slowing down their older phones to get they're owners to upgrade their phones, but I digress...

I recently turned off permissions to phone and contacts for Google Play Services. Afterwards, I began to get recurrent (annoyingly recurrent) Google Play services error notifications.

Today, I have found that I cannot make phone calls.

I do not think that Google Play Services should require phone and contact permissions to update my apps.

When I get a Google Play services error notification, if I press and hold the notification, it changes to "Google Pay."
I am not attempting to make any kind of purchase using Google Pay, I am just trying to make a phone call.

I am a diabetic, so it appears that I MUST to grant Google these permissions or RISK MY OWN LIFE.

What can I do about this other than writing my State and Federal Senators and Representatives and lodge a formal complaint?

Down the middle center of it, is this a sign my phone is dying?

can someone tell me what app this icon is from. The person almost circled?

I love the camera on the Galaxy S20 Ultra but it's incredibly painful to move photos and videos to my computer using Android File Transfer. Here are the steps I'm taking:

• Connect S20 Ultra to Macbook Pro with USB-C Cable
• Open Android File Transfer
• Open DCIM Folder
• Click "Camera"

At this point the Android File Transfer window more or less freezes with the color wheel spinning infinitely while I wait for the files to load.

In this case it's the files saved directly to the device's internal storage but it also happens when I switch to the "Card" option.

The last time this happened (and the only other time I moved files from my device) the same exact thing happened and I had to let my computer run overnight. When I woke up in the morning it had finally opened the directory and I moved everything.

Why does it take so darn long to load? Android File Transfer is garbage and better support on Apple devices is sorely needed but are there any alternatives folks here can suggest? Or could something be wrong with either my device or MBP?

Considering the primary reason I bought the Ultra was for photos and videos this is pretty terrible. Both devices have ridiculous specs. Moving files from one powerhouse device to another powerhouse device should be relatively quick. This is painful.

Any ideas?

UPDATE #1:
Even worse news. The "Camera" directory finally opened after about 10 minutes. THERE WERE ONLY 3 FILES IN IT TOTALING 86.6MB! This is just... sad. I guess I did change my camera back to saving files to SD Card... let's see how long that takes to open.

UPDATE #2: There were 47 files totaling 6.83GB on the card and it took about 30 seconds to open. It appears the Macbook Pro has a problem accessing the device's internal storage. Not good for folks who record in 8K since the S20 Ultra forces you to save files to internal storage.

I've been reading and searching on how to display ImageViews that sizes the images based on the device. I have 16 cards that need to be displayed. My card size is 127X177px png files. I'm storing them in the Drawable folder. The top for cards are constraint by the top of the screen. I chain the row together, and force the left and right edge card to have a constraint to the edge. Each row has constraints on the row above. I've tried fitXY, Center, nothing seems to scale the cards, when shown they all overlap each other.

I am a real novice when it comes to phones and apps. I have an older phone (Lollipop). I have an app that I have noticed uses a lot of data and battery power (relative to the other apps), even though I haven't used it in a long time. Why would this happen?

I have an issue with developing my app, that uses Bluetooth.
It all works fine, unless I have my watch connected via bluetooth, then it doesn't load the layout on create and doesn't work at all. But since it doesn't crash I have difficulties debugging the issue.

Does anyone else have had the same problem?

I decided to move over to android after of many years of iOS. I just got my self an Samsung 5g s20 ultra , but I'm having some trouble. I have notice on some of the apps like badoo ,when I get badges icons on my apps. I click on the app to read the message , but it doesn't disappear unless I clear it from notification section box , by scrolling down and clear all notifications.

After android v10 update clipboard is displaying icons on top of each other. I tried playing with the keyboard layout settings, but it's not making any difference. Any suggestions?

For the last 2 weeks or so Google Play Store tells me that the Facebook app needs to be updated, but whenever I try to do this it downloads about 12% and then goes back to saying it needs to be updated again.
All other apps are updating fine.
I have tried deleting the cache on the Facebook app, and the Google Play Store app, but with no joy.
Can anyone offer any advice, please?

Does anyone know of an android app that I can set to constantly record and play back a 4 second loop, slowly fading out? You know, like a delay pedal/echo? My 3.5 month old son is making all kinds of strange noises and this could be his favourite toy. I've tried loopstation, and he liked it, but I really want something I can leave on auto so he can be constantly talking to himself.

It's from a few years ago and is utterly superb in it's simplicity and ease of use. It's not around anymore and I'm trying to find something to replace it on my later devices.

Every timer I find seems to be a pain in the *ss to use, too many steps to get to the actual point of a kitchen type timer. I really wish developers knew the value of simplicity.

My SyncMe Wireless Android app has multiple 2 way sync jobs between the micro SD card on the phone and my WD external drive on the Windows 10 PC.

Currently, in SyncMe, there are multiple syn jobs individually pointing to folders scattered throughout the WD drive. So, for productivity reasons, I just want to sync to a root folder on the WD drive containing symbolic link folders pointing to those scattered folders.

For testing purposes, I used this to create a symbolic link folder on the PC:

mklink /D "F:\Phone\Enigma" "F:\Entertainment\Songs\Enigma"

But, SyncMe fails with this standard error message for the sync job pointing to F:\Phone:

cannot read folder contents /Entertainment/Songs/Enigma. Computer error: The create operation stopped after reaching a symbolic link

SyncMe uses the SMBv1 protocol, but the PC's SMBv1 is already enabled in Turn Windows features on or off. I tried all sorts of configuration changes without success. Seems like I need to use an app with SMBv2 support.

I tried the SMBSync2 Android app, but no success as online SMBv2 configuration instructions for the PC were overcomplicated and didn't work.

I'm not even sure if the problem I'm having is related to SMB protocol compatibility.

How can I make Android sync jobs work with symbolic link folders on the PC? BTW, please accept my apologies if this is not the place to post this thread. Thanks.

I have an S7, latest updates etc, I keep my phone pretty secure but I randomly get this notification.(see picture).

Note that I get this notification even when Snapchat is not running. Should I be alarmed? What do you techies make of this. Contacted Snapchat a few days ago and got no response...

Well, it had to happen sooner or later. My wife dropped her phone in the doggone toilet. She said she grabbed it immediately and dried it off with a towel. It was powered on. She took the gel case off to see if it had gotten wet on the backside, but it was dry as a bone. She brings it to me, and it seemed to be okay, so I powered it off and removed the SIM & SD card. During this time, the white LED notification light is blinking randomly, when it never had before (even after powering down). After a few hours, we powered the phone on, and she was able to use it normally. She started to watch videos for a few hours, and the light was gone. When she was done watching, she then sees it return with a steady glow. I have not taken a peek at the settings to see if something was activated (either by her or the quick dip in the pool). I would appreciate any advice! Also, the phone is bone stock.
