[Board Game] Baxalixo

Hello friends,
I made a new board game called Baxalixo. The game was tuned by AI algorithms. The game has simple rules, yet allowing an unimaginable number of combinations and strategies. At any moment, the position can be randomly shuffled to obtain an original position on the board.

(See description on Google Play for the rules.)

Game is completely free and without ads.

[APP][4.1+] LSubs - video player with translatable subtitles

Hi there :)

New Version 3.7.4 is available on Google Play.

LSubs - it is video player that will help you to learn or improve most of common languages,
by watching any movies/tv-series with translatable subtitles in real time.

LSubs works just like all other well-known players, such as: MX Player, VLC Player, etc., where you can watch videos from the device and from the Internet.

How it works:
You are watching your favorite movie (from your local device or from internet) on language that you prefer to learn with subtitles on that language. If you don't know some words or full sentences then just only tap on this word or select full sentence and you'll see popup with translation on your known language.

Video tutorials on how to work with LSubs: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLg_RER04nZTSfxaEENpzWw7StJz0P-VBQ

Guys, please provide me here any possible bugs that you've found or any improvements that you wish

Random volume changes both all the way down and all the way up w/headphones

I am seeking help with some random volume changes. Let me start from the beginning, I had a S9 plus which was great, until 2 mths ago. I would be working out and about 40 minutes into my workout, the volume would randomly turn all the way down and begin to open and close apps with no prompt. No matter what I did, I could not get the phone to stop nor could I control the random actions unless I forced it off. samsung ringtones
I tried everything, got new headphones, took off the case etc, factory reset etc.

I was sick of it so I bought a S10 note plus. I had no issues for a month or so and then out of nowhere, it started again today. I turned off the phone and restarted and still, after listening to headphone music for 5 minutes, it volumed all the way down and then all the way up.

Before anyone replies, note that this has happened with various headphone types, I also got a new phone, and yes it still would happen with the case off. This is obviously not uncommon since 2 phones in a row have done it. It doesn't matter what I'm listening to, it has happened with Spotify, Utube, Hulu, Netflix....you name it. ringtones free

Any advice?

How can I use my Android Phones to remember more than 200 Paired Bluetooth devices?

• Our In house app communicates with Bluetooth device (In house) via an Android Phone.
• We require a device (Android) to store pairing information for more than 200 devices (Bluetooth)
• Currently, we are losing the pairing information in our devices (Android) after more than 100 devices are paired.
* The paired device name is not lost but it asks for re-pairing.
* If we cancel the pairing request, the Bluetooth device un–pairs with Android (device).
• We have conducted the same test with various Android devices and the same issue happens.
• We have googled various forums and observed that there is practically no limit for Bluetooth devices to be paired.
* We need your help to solve the issue so that our device can remember pairing information for more than 200 devices.
• If any custom app could be developed to persistently store pairing info locally, outside Android default file system and further to be read from there while connecting the device.

Please guide us on relevant APIs, permission sets required if any.

Share your dreams

No sir. Once I awaken, I only retain the memory of coming up with something useful while sleeping. I never remember what it was so a pad would be of no use. I would like to remember just one dream sometime to see if I really had something or was just dreaming about helping out my fellow man.

I used to have nightmares when I was a kid.
There were also evidently dreams that I didn't identify as a type, but would cause me to get out from under the covers and turn 180° around.
As the house was cold, this caused poor sleep. Often I awoke minutes before my alarm went off- freezing.
I would get back under the covers to warm up, but when the alarm went off in a few minutes it was extremely hard to get out of bed.

Without any outside help, I realized that the solution was to become aware of my dreams as I was having them.

The best thing about dreams is that anything is possible in them- there are no boundaries or rules to follow.

So all you need to do is become aware that you are dreaming while you are dreaming.

This takes practice, but eventually you will catch it while it happens.

For me there was some more practice to wake myself once I realized that I was dreaming.

This was actually more difficult than realizing when I was dreaming.

But after a while, it happened.

I caught myself turning around in the bed a couple more times, then after that I woke myself up before getting uncovered.
I also learned to wake myself up when I was having nightmares.

You could try this, along with a pad and pencil (not a pen*) to quickly write down anything before it escapes.

(*Pens are less reliable.)

Help NewBee - LG Aristo 2 and Comcast

This is not critical but: I am 100% Comcast. I use my laptop 90% of the time (as I am now). When I get a call on my home phone, it rings AND my cell phone says I have a call. While I do appreciate my phones due diligence I do't need the extra notice. It's an issue with sync and I found how to kill it on my laptop. On my phone: Settings; Accounts (Auto-sync...) slide gray'd out but in the OFF position (left).
This is the first I've heard of "sync" and know nothing about it. Your assistance will be much appreciated.

Camera quick launch

Well, I got my S20 yesterday and it's great! Not sure what happened but when I double-tap the power button Bixby launches instead of the camera. I can't find how to fix this so the camera launches instead of Bixby. Any help would be great, thanks.

S20 Ultra 5G and Straight Talk

Hi, it's been a few years since I have posted here!
But, I currently have an unlocked Galaxy s9+ on Straight Talk using Verizon towers.

I preordered an unlocked S20 Ultra direct from Samsung and received it yesterday (YAY ME!).

However, Straight Talk is telling me in order to activate, I need to get a new AT&T compatible SIM card that it's not compatible with Verizon.

This makes no sense to me since it is unlocked. I really want to keep the phone, but I do not like AT&T's service so I can either switch back to Verizon (an extra $40 for unlimited data) or send the phone back.

Can anyone explain further? (I didn't buy the phone for the 5G. I realize that Straight Talk doesn't have 5G).

Thanks,
Kathy

Car mount recos?

Has anyone found a good car vent mount yet for the Z Flip?

Will it work with a magnet based mount? I read somewhere that there magnets in the there and cautioned proximity to credit cards, etc.

I have a popsocket on my Note 10+ and vent mount for that, but do not plan on popsocketing my Z Flip.

Post your inventions

Okay, I'm curious now :thinking:

From a question in the Post your Last Purchase thread ....

Earlier in that thread you might have seen a post that showed a purchase of insulin for animals. We found out our oldest dog is diabetic and requires shots of insulin twice a day. While this isn't much of a problem for me, my wife has issues with her hands (which I won't go into here) and has difficulty pulling back the insulin syringe to fill it. Holding the vial and pulling the plunger on such a small thing is just beyond her capability.

So I got the idea to make a device to do it for her.

syringeclaw.jpg

Put the syringe in the cradle (light gray) as shown and apply pressure to the lever arm and it provides enough pull to get the syringe started. The blue rods are there for spring tension. This was 3D printed and originally the "spring" was just a couple of pieces of PLA filament, but it has too much memory and after a few pulls it no longer functions as a spring. So, I thought I'd get some tempered spring steel wire and see what I could devise. I figure to bend the wire into a more manageable shape, more like a "P" so it rides in the tracks.

Here's the second prototype.

IMG_20200304_123406.jpg

See how the "springs" no longer sit in the tracks. I also am tweaking the design so it will sit flat on a table and possibly provide support for the insulin vial as well.

How can I access my custom AlertDialog EditText field ?

I created a custom AlertDialog and I want to save the values that the user has set. However I can't access them because
Attempt to invoke virtual method 'android.text.Editable android.widget.EditText.getText()' on a null object reference.

I am in HomeFragment, I created the AlertDialog and set the layout. I did it like this :
Java:
public class HomeFragment extends Fragment implements CustomDialog.CustomDialogListener {

   private HomeViewModel homeViewModel;
   private View root;

   public View onCreateView(@NonNull final LayoutInflater inflater,
                            final ViewGroup container, Bundle savedInstanceState) {
       homeViewModel =
               ViewModelProviders.of(this).get(HomeViewModel.class);
       root = inflater.inflate(R.layout.fragment_home, container, false);
       final TextView textView = root.findViewById(R.id.text_home);
       homeViewModel.getText().observe(getViewLifecycleOwner(), new Observer<String>() {
           @Override
           public void onChanged(@Nullable String s) {
               textView.setText(s);
           }
       });

       Button btn_add_apero = (Button) root.findViewById(R.id.btn_add_apero);
       btn_add_apero.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
           public void onClick(View v) {
               AlertDialog.Builder builder = new AlertDialog.Builder(root.getContext());
               builder.setTitle("Super un nouvel apéro !");

               builder.setView(inflater.inflate(R.layout.layout_dialog, null))
                       // Add action buttons
                       .setPositiveButton(R.string.text_add, new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() {
                           @Override
                           public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int id) {
                               EditText name_apero = (EditText)root.findViewById(R.id.edit_apero);
                               EditText date_apero = (EditText)root.findViewById(R.id.edit_date);
                               LaperoDatabase db = Room.databaseBuilder(root.getContext(),
                                       LaperoDatabase.class, "lapero_db").allowMainThreadQueries().build();

                               AperoDao dbApero = db.getAperoDao();
                               Apero new_apero = new Apero(name_apero.getText().toString(), date_apero.getText().toString());
                               dbApero.insert(new_apero);
                           }
                       })
                       .setNegativeButton(R.string.text_cancel, new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() {
                           public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int id) {
                               dialog.cancel();
                           }
                       });
               builder.show();
           }
       });
       return root;
   }

In my layout_dialog.xml I set the 2 EditText :
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
   android:layout_width="match_parent"
   android:layout_height="match_parent"
   android:padding="16dp">

   <EditText
       android:id="@+id/edit_apero"
       android:layout_width="match_parent"
       android:layout_height="wrap_content"
       android:hint="@string/edit_apero" />

   <EditText
       android:id="@+id/edit_date"
       android:layout_width="match_parent"
       android:layout_height="wrap_content"
       android:layout_below="@id/edit_apero"
       android:layout_alignParentStart="true"
       android:hint="@string/edit_date"
       android:layout_alignParentLeft="true" />

</RelativeLayout>

How can I manage to get the value that are in those 2 fields ? I tried with a breakpoint and the R.id.edit_apero in this line
Code:
EditText name_apero = (EditText) root.findViewById(R.id.edit_apero);
has a number but then it assign it as null

Is it possible to crack the password.key or any other .key file from /data/system/?

I am a newbie... So this question came in my mind when I removed my screen lock using adb by deleting the .key file from the /data/system/ folder.... For removing we delete the .key file, but what if we copy the .key file to our local PC using adb command and then try to brute force the encryption of the .key file using hashcat (like what we do when cracking the .cap file to get the WiFi password). Also we can use a wordlist. If we can do this then we can easily brute force PIN screen lock because it has the limited range of possible number combinations. I don't know what kind of encryption method is used for encrypting the plain password/pin for android screen lock so please answer this. So please let me know if this is possible.... Also I don't if this is discussed before....

Help please with my new Android!

Hello - I am used to Windows but have just bought a new Huawei Android tablet with 4G. Have set it up successfully I think but there are just two problems.

1. On my old Windows tablet when I am at home it works from my broadband and when away from home it automatically changes to use the EE sim card in the tablet. This is because on the Windows tablet there was an option to tick for this action. Cannot find this option on my mew Android so will it automatically change to EE when I leave home or will I have to, each time, switch off the wifi blue button to force it to do this?

2. The new tablet also has an SD card slot and I have put a 16gb card in this. The card shows as active as I looked in my tablet manger and it showed there. Now..............I transferred two small video files from my laptop and they now show under Video File (not SD card) which is fine. I then transferred more files and when right clicking from laptop it showed Huawei T3/SD and THEY went to the card instead of tablet's storage without an option.
Then I wanted to transfer a couple of movies hoping to send them to the SD card and there was no option and they went to the tablet's storage and took up too much space!

Please - what am I doing wrong. I am elderly and quite savvy with computers but new to Android.

Thanks

moggie

No Alarm Sound

So I've had my galaxy S9 plus for almost 2 years, I ALWAYS have it on silent, but for 2 years I could set an alarm and it will sound off. Recently I broke the screen and got a replacement device (same phone), right after setting up my new device it updated to android 10, now if I have my phone on mute or vibrate the alarm doesn't sound. Is this an android 10 thing? If so, how can I revert back to android 9? :(

Need Help Using Custom Notification Files

I had my Go SMS Pro notifications set up using my own sound files I'd downloaded onto my Galaxy S9. I had an unrelated issue which caused me to have to wipe my phone to factory. I've downloaded all my music and ringtone sound files which I've ALWAYS used as Go SMS Pro notification sounds (I've had Go SMS Pro for years on several devices) but I cannot find some of the sound files available in the limited selection I can access from Go SMS Pro. Does anyone know 1) Where are the files stored which Go SMS Pro accesses and 2) How I can transfer my old ringtone/notification files to that file location? Thank you! This sounds silly but it really is important to me as these old ringtones are familiar to me and help me to know when to take immediate action and when I can finish a piece of business before I get back to whoever contacted me.
