Hi-new here. Have the S8, love the phone, but its seen some wear and tear. Looking to upgrade, but we need MhL compatibility. Is there a way to convert any device to be MhL compatible? Can this be rooted to make this happen?

So I have a Pixel XL and whenever I try to connect to a specific WiFi, it just gives me IP configuration failure and then when I try to reconnect then it just says obtaining IP address infinitely. I have tried assigning a custom IP by converting to Static IP setting, but it just says "connected, but no internet" and that's it. Can someone please help me with this?

There is notification badger issue in tecno phantom 8 phone, the application does not show a badge count/dot.

Is there any library available for tecno phantom 8 as it uses HiOS skin. Please provide a solution to implement it in Android studio.

For months now sometimes it responds then it does not. If I restart the phone it always works again, but sooner or later it does not.
I happens when I'm at home with WIFI, or on the road using data, when I am sure I am connected on the web, with the Bluetooth switched on or off, after retraining my voice etc etc

Is there a way to change the settings on an S10+ so that I can turn the screen off WITHOUT locking the phone? There are times when I want to turn the screen off to save some battery or because I'm holding the phone and don't want to accidentally press anything. If I use the power button it locks the phone and I have to unlock it with my pin or thumb. I had an LG G5 before this and I could double tap the screen to turn it off and double tap again to turn it back on without having to unlock it. I've been playing around with the settings but haven't found the right combination.

Just curious would you use it on a Pixel device?
Any user reviews?

Hi. I have a Hipstreet Phoenix (HS-10DTB12A-16GB) without a bump or scratch on it that I hadn't used in a few weeks so I set it on the charger for a day and then tried to power up and it just brings up the "h" logo then goes black repeatedly. I have tried all the power on tricks (including un-soldering the battery and reconnecting for a hard restart) and am trying to reset the firmware(following an other youtube tutorial) but I cannot find a clean link for this tablet. It appears to have a mother board ID of

As the end of the year approaches and support for the venerable Windows 7 comes to an end, I am tasked with making sure everyone in our enterprise is using Windows 10 by either upgrade or new machine. My process has been to take a new or upgraded machine, do a complete fresh install of Windows 10 in it's latest iteration (currently 1909), install an office 365 license, malware/anti-virus endpoint protection, a few utilities for remote maintenance and the appropriate shortcuts to our ERP servers, depending on the users need for access. I then restore their files and configs from the previous night's backup. From that point it's a simple 5 minute swap out to get them on the new machine.

If their old machine is viable to run Windows 10, I will clone the boot disk to an SSD, swap out the hard drive and run the Windows 10 upgrade on the SSD. Once the upgrade succeeds, I verify Windows is activated with a digital license and proceed to completely wipe the SSD and do a fresh install of Windows 10 in preparation for the next swap. The original untouched HDD gets labeled by user and decommission date and put on a shelf in the data center in case anything needs to be retrieved later on.

I am relating all this to make a point that I am diligent when it comes to user data and uptime.

So there I sit, watching the Windows update process complete several updates on what should be the final PC in my retiring Windows 7 project and I think that I haven't update feature versions in my own PC in a while. While I do apply all security and bug patches, new features aren't a high priority. I think, "what the heck" let's bring my PC up to 1909 since it was currently only running 1803 and I start the update process. I've done it over and over again with a 100% success rate, so what's the risk? (famous last words).

When it gets to the first reboot, i get a "no OS found" error. Hmmm. I unplug everything except power, monitor and the boot SSD and reboot. This time it starts the Windows update process but hangs up. No problem, Windows has been pretty reliable at fixing itself in situations like this, even if it has to roll back to previous versions. No soap. Completely borked.

I end up having to reinstall a fresh version of Windows 10 directly to 1909, reinstall my applications and settings, etc. but when I plug in the 2 TB disk I use for file storage, it can't find the drive, not even in the BIOS. Upon closer examination, I see where my problems started. Disk hardware. Apparently the upgrade process stressed the hardware just enough to generate enough heat to make a connection fail on the ICB. The solder joint on the right failed and in removing the hard disk from the case I pulled off the resitor and part of the copper circuit path.



While I did have all of the important files backed up, there were some old installations that would surely be a pain in the data bus to track down and recopy. Unfortunately all I had at work was a little battery powered soldering iron that couldn't give me a hot enough or fine enough tip to resolder the component.

I channeled my inner McGyver and took a spare RJ-45 connector and a heavy rubber band and did the following "fix" to get the disk to spin up long enough for me to get the files off of it. The old mechanical disk is now replaced with a pair of Samsung 1 TB SSD's.




The plastic jack put just enough pressure on the part to hold the connection until I was finished.

Looking for something that will allow a user to sit down at a desktop PC, look at a calendar, and set times for a phone.

For example: "Every Monday, turn off the ringer between 9 AM to 12 noon, then resume silence at 1 PM, then turn the ringer back on at 5 PM.

And so forth, for an entire week, month, year, with EASY modification.

Why? I have a friend who has to shut off her phone at work, and CONSTANTLY forgets to turn it back on when she leaves work.

Her work schedule varies A LOT so this has to be SUPER easy, and not require typing on a tiny phone screen.

Needless to say, looking for something that is free/very cheap, no adware, not trialware, not spyware, not malware.

Last night the December Security Update snuck onto my Verizon phone. I had read an article about the December update being available in an OTA update. When I tried to get it on my phone, it was already there. I don't know how it got there without asking me first, but it did.
Just wanted to warn the Verizon people and possibly everyone else.

I'm looking for an Android document creator for a fairly simple craft project I would want to share digitally. I would probably want to be able to use clip art, photos and different fonts.
