Forgive my ignorance; but if someone rooted my old device or had some type of spywear or parental controls on my old device, would they be able to access my new device through just using my phone number?

When I Plug my Samsung J2 into my computer running Linux 19, I can see and access all the files in my phone.

Couldn't I simply replace the stock recovery with TWRP using Linux Mint's file manager?

I have vibrate intensity turned all the way up. But can not tell when I get a call. Even with it on my legs, no go. My old note 8, would vibrate off the table.

From the start it seemed like the reader wasn't very good, it just didn't have the sensitivity I thought it should and then I compounded the problem by installing the Whitestone Dome glass screen protector.

Re-registered prints several times in various positions etc and it didn't help then the Sep 1 update came out and it improved a little, I also set the sensitivity to max in system settings. It worked better but I still had to press fairly hard for it to go thru.

Well today I dropped the phone and cracked the screen protector so I decided to change it out with the 2nd dome protector I got and that's when I discovered why the print reader was off. While peeling the cracked dome protector off I noticed an air bubble on the screen itself I'm trying to figure out how the hell air got under the screen and felt the edge of the phone with my fingernail.

Damn phone came with a hard plastic screen protector under the peel away sheet. Now the reader works like it should. Doh!

I used to be able to touch anywhere in the address bar of my browser and edit the text already in the field. Now when I click in the address bar the current text simply disappears, making it impossible to cut, copy, or insert text. This happens with chrome and brave. I am using Galaxy Tab A. Is there a setting that can be changed which will allow me to edit text in my browser's address bar? Thank You.

I have been looking all over the internet for information about rooting and am having difficulty making sense of it all (I suspect in part because there are well intentioned people who are describing things inaccurately). I have been using/developing linux/unix for over 40 years. Maybe that is making it harder for me to understand what I am seeing that is written by or for people who do not understand the details of how linux works.

All I want to do is make some space on my 8GB ROM on my LG G5. With just a few added apps installed I am down to 0.5GB available and cannot even apply updates because the system complains I am out of memory. I do NOT want to always run as root, that is too dangerous. I just want what I have on any other linux system I use, the ability to execute SU to temprarily gain root provilege to do a specific task (like remove an uneeded bloatware system app). But generic android does not have an SU program on it.

Is there a simple way to modify my file system to add an SU program (ideally one that requires a pin/password to execute to protect against someone using SU to mess with my phone) that temprarily gives me root access but then I can drop back down to "normal" access. Just that minimal change.

Hi all, not been on here in ages!

I've got a Leagoo Shark 1 android phone installed within the dashboard of my wife's mini, and every so often we have an issue with audio playback from it. Its linked to her stock head unit via an A2DP adapter, and is using bluetooth. I've also got a button wired up via the headphone port to be used as a back button instead of having on screen buttons. Problem is, sometimes it repeatedly flickers between playing audio via bluetooth and via the phone's loudspeaker, even showing the headphone symbol on the navigation bar flickering on and off. When it's doing this, it often stops audio playback entirely since the music player on the phone, poweramp in this case, can't decide how to output audio. Does anyone have any idea how I can disable the headphone port so that audio programs simply can't attempt to use it, without having to lose the ability of using it as a back button?

I am aware that the developers of apps has a choice and the advantages that provides the developers. Smaller apps and let Google fill in the rest seems to less work. What do you think?

I heard about this on ''Security Now''. Yikes! I immediately removed both sim cards from my smartphone. Hi,I bought Samsung A50 recently.one month ago it fell on swimming pool.But I removed the water from the phone and its working.But the issue is when making phone calls sim get undetected.Even when making whats app calls sim get undetected and it shows insert sim prompt. If hands-fee is plugged in, this issue is not there. Using data and sending messages all works fine.Only when making calls without hands-free sim get undetected.I dont understand where is the issue.I tried factory reset and hard reset still the issue is there.

Someone help please... I've downloaded the Wyze can app went through each step over and over just to hear the camera say cannot connect to local network. Even factory restored a NETGEAR router to have open password but when I get to router password on wyze cam app it says it can't be blank. These cameras have some awesome out of box features someone please help because I can't wait to see them in action. Thanks to any and all comments in advance!!

Galaxy S6 - I've tried 3 computers (Win7) and 3 cables - when I plug up the phone, it vibrates once and says charging. It use to allow me to swipe the drop down and choose "file transfer mode" - I don't get that anymore. I've talked to samsung chat 5 times - they've made sure all settings are ON and USB configuration is set to MTP mode. I've also tried SmartSwitch - it doesn't recognize the connection. I've also tried an OTG cable in the phone port, then connected a flash drive to it, but the phone doesn't see that either. It's like ALL FORMS of data transfer is disabled. Can anyone please help me? I've had my V50 (Sprint) for a month. From the start, High Contrast Fonts was turned on, but I do not know why. This makes some apps just about unusable.

I would like to turn it off, but the setting under Acessibility > Vision is simply missing.

I have tried everything - reset the phone, waited for Android 10, all of it. Nothing makes this setting option re-appear. The option is simply not present in the settings.

I have heard that sometimes an inappropriate home screen or theme can cause this very problem, but I do not have any customized screen.

Are there any other suggestions? For example, is there another app which has the ability to control settings that might have this option in it?
