Phone calls no longer work on connected car audio system...

My phone pairs successfully with the Tekna audio system of my 2015 Qashqai. All of the music, radio, podcast et al apps work.
Initiating and receiving phone calls as well as WhatsApp voice calls used to work without problems since I bought the car in 2015.
A couple of months ago I received a phone call and got no sound when I pressed the answer button, I didn't hear the caller, and he/she didn't hear me either.
Since then all phone calls connect but there isn't any sound received nor transmitted.
When I break the USB connection, the call is working, but than I need to hold the phone in my hands, and that's illegal (in Belgium) and far too dangerous when driving.
Note that receiving and initiating WhatsApp voice calls continues to work.
My phone is a Nokia X20 model TA-1341 and runs Android version 13, Build nr 00WW_3_470_SP01.
I use Google's Phone app, last update apr 5, 2023, version 103.0.522355693-publicbeta
I can't think of any setting that would cause this behavior.
In fact I wonder whether it is the phone or the car that is to blame...
Any suggestions would be wholeheartedly appreciated, I am desperate as I miss all incoming phone calls: I can pick up but don't hear the caller and neither do they hear me..

Galaxy j1 mini prime camera Macro mode

Most phones I had thus far always had camera Macro Mode setting.
I can hold camera close to object(say..back of router to take photo of wifi/password, etc..)
Usually hold camera very close and tap screen twice, then picture comes in focus and take photo, done.
Last phone (J2 Prime, year 2017)) did Macro, no problem.

Now I have Galaxy j1 mini prime (year 2016) which is almost exactly like J2 (thus I assumed item like camera would be the same.
Galaxy j1 mini prime do NOT have Macro mode option, Nothing happens tap screen twice, pictures still out of focus.

Per google search Galaxy j1 mini prime does have Macro mode option but not my Galaxy j1 mini prime phone.

Some say Galaxy j1 mini prime camera lense will not do Macro, but J2 camera is set for Macro,
This don;t make sense cause why would J1 and J2 camera lenses be different?

I tried several camera apps from Google Play store. NONE had Macro mode option.

So can anybody here shed some light about Macro mode for Galaxy j1 mini prime? Am I just stuck with NO Macro mode camera lense?

Help App that shows which apps are using the network

When my phone, now a Pixel 7 Pro and previously a Pixel 3 XL, is near to my computer and I have computer music playing, every now-and-again, I heard static-like noise. I know that the phone is the source of the noise and I have to believe that it is caused by network communication. However, I believe that I have turned off most every snoopy-thing on the phone and it just sits there, so I am wondering what app is accessing the network.

As such, I would like to run an app that records which apps is accessing the network so that I can learn more about what’s going on with my phone. I did some searching for appropriate apps, such as here: Best 10 Network Monitoring Apps for Android 2023, but nothing really popped. What app would you suggest that I use?

Move notifications to top of lock screen?

I just missed an important call this morning. There were 4 missed calls from them, but because my Android 11 phone was locked, it decided notifications should no longer be at the top of the screen where I was looking and saw nothing, no let's put them in the middle! How absurd.

I can't find any way (except Twitter which I have my doubts will reach anyone) to contact "Android" if that's a company. Any other way to give feedback?

I googled how to move notifications to the top and only got one result, for Iphones. Any way to do this on Android?

When I boot the emulator, I get the above log in aosp 12. I wanted to know where in the code this attribute(qemu.sf.fake_camera) was read from and sent from qemud service process to qemu-props process. I looked for it in the aosp code for a long time, but I couldn't find it. I would appreciate it very much if you have some knowledge of the simulator.

My question is why did this happen and how on earth do you get out of it? I had previously turned the TalkBack facility off in settings.
I am new to Android and have not become educated with all it's little foibals

Help adb sideload

Hello everybody

I am in the following case:
* Android phone started in recovery mode - with option: "Apply update from ADB"
* connected with a usb cable on a Windows 10 x64 workstation
* with ADB and Fastboot commands installed

Only .ZIP files can be installed on the mobile using the command:
adb sideload package_name.zip

If the file is not "signed", the following messages appear on the mobile:
..."verifying update package"
"E:footer is wrong"
"E: signature verification failed"
"Installation Aborted"

My question is :
How is it possible to transform an .APK file into a "signed" .ZIP file?
So the installation of this .ZIP file will not be rejected.

The purpose of this operation is to:
* be able to re-install the Gboard keyboard which is no longer active
* and thus be able to unlock the screen.
Currently when swiping the screen to enter the password, no keyboard appears...

In advance, thank you for your help.

Cordially,
(Kindly excuse my bad English...)

How do I tell if my phone is connected to 3g or 4g?

I want to know what network type my phone is **actually connected to right now**, not what it's capable of (which is all Google turns up when I ask the above question, stupid thing). It will do up to 4G(1) but I can find no way of finding out if it's on 3G or 4G. My old phone used to have 3G or 4G next to the signal bars, and I'd see one or the other depending on the area I was in and how near a mast I was), but this one (a Samsung A10) doesn't.

(1)It actually says 2G/3G/LTE auto select. Google says LTE is the same as 4G, is that correct?

G'Day....and...Strange folder behaviour...?

Howdy gurus,

I'm a rookie. I'm hoping someone might have had a similar issue to mine....
I've tried the search bar but the single result was a slightly different issue.

Almost 2 years ago I switched from an S10 to an S21.
I think I used the Samsung software to transfer across my data etc.
How much of that transfer was via cloud and how much was direct is not clear....but I do remember eveything went pretty
smoothly with no apparent issues. The S10 was reset & traded to a phone recycling company.
The S21 has been great, but it has a ridiculous storage management regime.

So I have a file in the internal storage named "SdCardbackup"
It was created during the transfer process because the S10 had an external card in it.
The folder was used by Android/Samsung App to capture the media on the SD card & move it across to the S21.
No problem. I understand what it was created for and why it has media in it.
I was going to make a copy of it on my PC and then delete it from the S21.....

But....
I noticed the SdCardbackup folder had a few very recent photos in it that were taken nearly 2 years after I changed over from the S10.
This means the S21 is still using this folder.
How is this possible?
The S21 doesn't have SD card capability. Nothing in the S21 has been linked to that legacy folder. The S21 doesn't "know" anything about that folder except that it sits on the internal storage drive. At no point (that I'm aware of?) have I nominated that folder for use. And even if I have accidentally activated the Samsung transfer App sometime after the initial transfer, there is no new SD card in the S21 for it to save to or back-up.
And yet, something is saving photos & videos to that folder under certain conditions (not every new photo/video, just some...)
A closer look through the folder shows a mix of mostly older S10 era media with some recent photos & videos. And there is a lot of media there (approx. 7 GB I think)

So...
How do I find which process or App is using that folder?
Should I delete it & see what happens? (not keen on this option)
Could it be something to do with WhatsApp? I use WhatsApp a lot for sending photos & videos to family & friends.

A google search of the www turns-up nothing related to this specific issue.

EDIT: Could this be a cloud / Google Drive / Google Photos setting issue, where the folder is being "synced" inadvertently?

Problem identifying Android app on one device to enable installation on another device

I have a number of Android devices and have been using Android for many years. I have on all my devices installed essentially the same Apps which I like. Whenever I obtain a new device I install most of my favourite Apps (used on existing devices) across to it. Most of the time this works without any problem.

However I've now encountered a problem I wasn't expecting. I have an App called Clock installed on different devices but (while having the same name) they are actually different Apps as they are produced by different developers. I've found one particular Clock app which I prefer to the alternatives and would like to install it on all my devices. The problem is that Google Play has so many Apps called Clock (dozens of them) that I cannot distinguish between them and select the identical App (the one that I prefer) to be installed on my other devices.

Can anyone suggest a way that I can transfer my preferred Clock App located on one device and installing it on other devices when I don't know where to find it on Google Play?
