Whatsapp notifications not working (late or only when I open the app)

I keep getting notifications on my WhatsApp very late or some times not at all (until I decide to open the app). Also some times if the WhatsApp notifications decide to show up they dont make any sound. (restarting the device fixes it but still this is a problem).
I tried:
1. App -> special access -> turned off the battery optimization for WhatsApp

2. Excluded Whatsapp from the memory optimization RAM (in Device Care)

3. WhatsApp is allowed to run in foreground. (data saver is off)

4. Tampered with internal notification settings of the phone and in app settings inside WhatsApp .

Did I brick my LG v20 H910/H915?

Bought an LG v20 H910.
One of the methods to change from standard ROM involved altering the phone to an H91510e.
Although the expected results from those instructions did not happen on this phone, afterward the phone WAS working as an H915.
Tried again with a different method to add TWRP to the (now) H915 but I fear it bricked.

1) I can get [fastboot mode] (vol-, then plug USB in) to come up but I have no idea from here how to get to install TWRP (or even it it did get installed).
2) Trying to enter [download mode] just gives me a colorful garbled screen.
3) Just trying now to turn on the phone says OS corrupted.

In [download mode] LGUP does run but it cannot determine the phone's model, so it won't do anything.
In [fastboot mode] the screen just has tiny writing that says "1140 fastboot mode" started, and above that it that has some data about the phone:
product_name - msm8886 64GB
variant - msm8886 64GB
bootloaded version -
baseband version -
carrier_info - N/A
serial_number - [serial number here]
signing - production
secure_boot - disabled
lock_state - locked

PS - The msm# above (8886) *could be* 9996 or 8996, etc. The print is way tiny and characters too close together. Can't really tell

Can anyone help?

Files Organization

Hi everyone,
Wanting to organize my files my way, I encounter the problem of auto-creating folders.
In Internal, I got Android and all his com.%name of an app%, CloudDrive, fonts, HWThemes, Wi-Fi direct,... folders.
In SD card, Android and LOST.DIR folders.
I know pretty much all they're used for but most of them are useless to me and the way I use my phone. They re-create themselves shorty after being deleted.
Here are my questions:
Do you know a way to prevent them to auto-create ?
Do you know a way to rename some of them without them losing their auto-utility (for example 'DCIM' into 'Camera' but still saving auto-savig pictures in that folder)?
Thank you very much.

Help I'm having problem upgrading my react native app to 64 bit

I'm having problem upgrading my app to 64 bit. I've already upgraded my previous React Native version to 0.59.3. Which is includes 64 bit but when I tried to run in my device, the app crashed.

The error i got is:
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: couldn't find DSO to load: libimagepipeline.so caused by: dlopen failed: "/data/data/...../lib-main/libimagepipeline.so" is 64-bit instead of 32-bit

So from the error, it means android doesn't know how to choose the correct bit? The only solution to prevent the crash, is to use the following configuration:

packagingOptions {
exclude "lib/arm64-v8a/libgnustl_shared.so"
exclude '/lib/mips64/**'
exclude '/lib/arm64-v8a/**'
exclude '/lib/x86_64/**'
}

Which of course will get warning message from google because there are no 64bit codes in my apk. So how can I solve this problem?

Smart Lock stops working

I have a question about the Smart Lock functionality on my new S10 Plus. I know how to set it, and I know how to add a location to it, but the functionality only seems to last for the day that I set it, and sometimes not even for that long.

That is, I open the Smart Lock link, add my home location and exit from it. The phone works, not locking my phone while I am home, usually for the day. The next day it no longer works and I have to add another Smart Lock link. The old one is still there, but adding a new one gives me a slightly different location, and then that one only lasts for one day, sometimes less.

Sometimes if I move to a different room in the house the lock stops working. Often moving 15 feet is enough for the functionality to stop working and it does not start again when I return to the original location.

Can anyone tell me what is going on?

Help Pixel3 Max volume too low ( WIRED headphones )

Hey there folks! Just signed up here after searching for about an hour and downloading a couple apps. They are not working to help improve the maximum volume of the Pixel 3 when using WIRES headphones. All of the apps seem to be used for improving the volume on wireless headphones. I have a pair of Grado SR325 which I just got back after about a year of being broken and now I can't get them to sing like they should when using the phone. I tried calling google and while super helpful the gent was not able to help me due to the fact that I believe it's a hardware issue, although it might be a software issue with a restrictor in place for max volume. Anyway, at this point I'm thinking there is no solution to this. If anyone has any tips or tricks I'd love to hear em.

TL;DR: 3rd party Wired headphones volume way too low on Pixel3XL. Please save me

Viewing Local SQL Server Database

Good afternoon peeps, I'm wondering if you can assist me.

I am currently residing in the beginners area of Android Development but because i'm not sure what question to ask to get the answer I need, I am hoping someone can shed some light or point me in the right direction at least.

I am going to be using a dedicated barcode scanner and this barcode scanner uses a datawedge to get information to any app within a set profile. That bit is ok, but the development of said app is something else.

Ideally I want the app to scan a barcode which will contain several fields of information, basically the following:

TimeStamp (date and time of barcode scan), JobRef (numbers), DueDate (Date), Urgent (yes or no), Department, (listpicker) and maybe a couple of others.

I want the app to send the details to an awaiting table on our on-premise SQL Server database which I have full access to (for development purposes and messing about).

I'm not sure how to go about this, is there a service that needs to run on the server so that it listens for updates? or can I force an additional record in a table on the database by having the app work with it directly?

Kindest regards

New Terminator movie, and other warmed over stuff

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-49042774

A Top Gun sequel is in the works. I guess Tom Cruise can still pull that one off. Article also mentions a new Terminator movie, pitched as a sequel to the first two.
What do you reckon?
I'm not so sure about that. I mean Arnie is well past his sell by date, and I'm surprised Linda Hamilton has been tempted out of retirement for this one. Terminator franchise has got progressively worse, like the slaughter of Alien movies.
To me it's just another indication that Hollywood has run out of ideas. More warmed over movie franchises. Meh!

Hacked phoned

My phone is being hacked into and my phone called are being monitored. Yesterday i was on my way to the courthouse to do emergency custody for my son to file a 51a and magically at Walmart all my services including 911 was disabled.
During the night time I reviewed my monitoring history and my websites being accessed phone calls are being made I found my old phone had been registered on July 2nd and it was stolen when I arrived at a shelter on 6/28. I believe I know who it is physically cuz I can hear them sometimes in the background of the call like I sounds like my dad or something like laughing but I can't say for sure it's him although I do have an APN number of tmus as well as an identification access point that I found in my phone. Please help how do I fix this!

Streaming data over Wifi

Hello,

I am new in this forum, and also new in android programming. What I want to ask is whether there is an app that transfers/streams data (I am interested in images that I capture from my camera and videos) instantly at the time that are generated and stored in my android phone, to an end device, such as a laptop/PC wirelessly using a protocol appropriate for this job (ex. WiFi, bluetooth)??

Thank you...

Why chromium's crash reporter has been removed from AOSP

I am trying to port chromium's crash reporter onto Android. Observed Android -N codebase has chromium's crash reporter code(https://android.googlesource.com/platform/system/core/+/refs/heads/nougat-dev/crash_reporter/), but I have seen that it has been removed from Oreo onwards.
Can anyone tell what could be the reason to remove crash reporter from AOSP Oreo source onwards?

Permission for "Storage"

Hello!
I am eager to learn about the topic.
What if I grant an android app a permission to "storage", what actually becomes accessible?

a) just a specific folder for this one app to use
b) also your personal files (a-la downloads, music, pictures, documents...)
c) also files of other apps
d) also system files
e) another group of files / folders
?

I would be thankful for your take on this.

West Coaster Rom & Kernel

With the release of the S10 that will drop, Rooting will become what I think a "IN" thing again for a while. Im not sure if you guys have heard but to fast charge the 10 series will require a fee. WTF is that about? Anyway I have been working on a few device variations of a Rom and Kernel. So far personal testing is going very well. I believe I will call it the West Coast Series. I will have downloadable files in 2 days time when my work schedule lightens a bit. Devices that will be ready, Google Pixel XL, Google Pixel, Samsung S series models and the Galaxy Tab A. If anyone would like to help me Beta and provide feedback I would greatly appreciate it. Cheers
