Difficulty Shopping For Qi-capable Tablet

When shopping for tablets, it seems the specifications rarely if ever state whether they support Qi charging or not. This is a primary requirement as I'm getting it for someone suffering from a movement disorder who therefore cannot plug in the micro-USB.

Do specifications overlook Qi charging because it isn't so much a feature of the tablets as a feature of the battery and they expect you to get a Qi capable battery?

Is there a site somewhere that specializes in telling which devices support Qi charging?

PS: I am having to return a Nexus 7 second generation (2013) I purchased because it apparently was "refurbished" with a battery without a Qi coil.

Turn off specific sounds

I have an Andriod 9 phone. I want to turn off 'Apps are using battery' sound notification, or better still that app notification. Found this but does not work on my phone:-

https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...using-battery-notification-galaxy-s9-0183532/

Also want to turn off sound notification when using Google Pay i.e. having made a payment do not want the sound telling me that I have just paid; still want the app to accept the payment notification; just no sound.

BTW in settings > apps > Google Pay notification is blocked; what is blocked?

Is it possible to turn off these sounds?

I do not want all notification sounds turned off; just these at present.

What are these Word docs in backup folder?

I was going through my phone files to clean out some stuff, and I happened to open up the backup folder.

There are a lot of Word Docs in there. When I open one I get an error message.

I tried saving one onto my computer and opening it that way, but I get the same error message that says it can't read it or doesn't know what the file is.

Does anybody know what these Word Doc files are? Where did they come from? Can I delete them without causing any problems to the phone?

Help with location services

I have a pay as you go mobile which I also use as a satnav . I´ve noticed that my credit keeps vanishing even tho´ I have mobile data switched off . Checking with my network provider , I was told to swith off " Location " as that uses my sim card if no wifi avaiable .

Is this correct ? If so how can I prevent this ?

I cannot plot a route on my satnav without location on .

Please could anyone suggest a solution i.e. switch off/on 2G 3G etc .

Thanks in advance .

Beer for X-plore

I've been using the music player in X-plore. It's pretty basic but does most of what I want most of the time. It doesn't just keep playing a lot of songs in a row, though. They apparently want a donation for that, in terms of beer. It comes out to $4, which seems reasonable enough. Should I go ahead and pay them? I realize there are probably better apps for playing music but I'm not sure I want to download one right now.

Cant run Tapped out on Poco.

Well this is pretty much the only game I'm playing but now when I got myself Pocopfone I was able to run it only once when I just installed it... Now, as soon as I launch it, it kinda loads up and just closes instantly with a message that it closed and option to report... Was trying to add permissions and disabling game mode boost and stuff, even reinstalled but now it even closes when game is downloading additional files to run even... Any ideas? Thnx!

Huawei Mate 20 Lite vs. Samsung Galaxy S10e

Huawei Mate 20 Lite which has better battery life (3750mAh), but it's a little too big for me (158.2 x 77.2) VS. Samsung Galaxy S10e which has less battery (3100mAh), but it's smaller which is better for me (142.2 x 69.9).

Other than the battery and size, I like both phones equally, but I'm looking for something long-term because I'm not huge on phones and don't want to get a replacement every other year. I've had my current phone for years, but I have to replace it because I dropped it in the toilet and the battery drains faster than the speed of light, oops.

I also don't want the phone to lag or freeze.

Intermittent error

I created a complex game that works fine most of the time but once every 40 or so rounds it will mess up. I'm trying to see if there is a bug so I play the game in the same exact order to recreate the problem but sometimes there is a problem and sometimes there isn't a problem. I've never had a program do this before. Can anybody shed some light on what might be causing the problem? I can recreate the problem but its random. I checked out all the code that is involved but there isn't a problem. Just Most of the time the code works flawlessly and sometimes it doesn't. Weirdest thing I've ever seen.

Android Dev Documentation

As I've been trying to learn Android development, I have been noticing that the documentation seems to be rather lacking. Specifically, I'm finding out of date or inaccurate information.

For example, at https://developer.android.com/training/basics/network-ops/connecting#HeadlessFragment they have this example code:
Code:
private class DownloadTask extends AsyncTask<String, Integer, DownloadTask.Result> {

     ...
     /**
     * Wrapper class that serves as a union of a result value and an exception. When the download
     * task has completed, either the result value or exception can be a non-null value.
     * This allows you to pass exceptions to the UI thread that were thrown during doInBackground().
     */
    static class Result {
        public String mResultValue;
        public Exception mException;
        public Result(String resultValue) {
            mResultValue = resultValue;
        }
        public Result(Exception exception) {
            mException = exception;
        }
    }
- but this results in an error Inner classes cannot have static declaration

And the Volley overview at https://developer.android.com/training/volley/ has this:
Code:
dependencies {
    ...
    compile 'com.android.volley:volley:1.1.1'
}
- but compile is deprecated and was scheduled for removal end of 2018.

I ran into a similar issue at the very beginning, when the Create an Android project guide had information on the older Android Studio version, so it didn't match the latest version that I had installed. (This page has since been updated)

Almost everywhere I look, the information seems to be out of date, inaccurate, or incomplete. So I'm wondering what your suggestions are for where to look for accurate and up-to-date information and tutorials.

Thanks in advance!

HTTP vs localhost

I just learned that you can't use localhost on the emulator, since it's actually a separate device (so localhost from the emulator is the emulator). I found a suggestion to use 10.0.2.2:8080, but that didn't do any good, and I couldn't find much more.

So I'm wondering, how do you do HTTP requests against your dev system?

Android

My phone started freezing every 10-15 mins and everytime it does that I have to hold the home button to get into that menu where you can see all running apps (idk how it's called but you guys know what i'm talking about) and then get into the app again so it will unfreeze

It freezez in apps, games, or even on the 'desktop' when I open it. When it does that, it doesn't respond to any touuching, and if there are videos playing they are stopped

Did anyone have this issue before? How can I fix it? Thanks

Launcher pro plus apk market problem...

I for some reason, even though i PURCHASED it from the play store, it won't let me download it, but whats more, I cant even FIND it or the launcher, any more... i just installed it a couple months ago, and lost it on a reset, so i assume it got removed in one of those ban waves going around... if someone needs proof I bought it, I think I still have my receipt, if someone asks for it, and looking at a thread here, i found a post similar to this, from long ago I assume, and it was closed due to talk of piracy... i dont want to be a pirate, but would like to know how to get the product I purchased, downloaded... what a time to forget to backup my purchased apps... might have it on another phone, but all my other devices that may have it, need USB-C charging cables, which i dont currently have available...
