"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

"O beautiful for spacious skies,
For amber waves of grain,
For purple mountain majesties
Above the fruited plain!
America! America!
God shed his grace on thee
And crown thy good with brotherhood
From sea to shining sea!"
from 'AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL'

Is this a CLUE? ANDROIDX the Beautiful? My guess is that its in a ND wheat field near Amber Waves, Inc. haha start looking everyone..

p.s. I AM IN THE BOSTON AREA

@DroidLanding is being geographically discriminating.. if their's such a thing. We need an escaped Droid in Raleigh, NC.

Droid X 3 could be at the space needle in seatle. Higher altitude on the west coast plus has red blinking light on top "red eye". Droid 5 could be at the arch in st louis. Again blinking light at top and is in the heartland. Lights are for air traffic by the way. I bet most if not all are at national landmarks if you factor in the hoover dam as well

Pissed off no driod where I went...
Thought it would have been for sure...
You would have thought it would be at verizon wireless amphitheater in irvine but noooo nothing in the parking lot.. Didn't go inside cause had to get to work...
but nothing out of the ordinary like no weird car or verizon employee

Your pissed off because you drove to a parking lot and didn't find a brand new phone laying around? Are you really that naive?

Something interesting I just found on the Amber Waves Inc. Website. I was looking at it and thinking why put it here. They seem to only sell farming equipment etc. I clicked on partners and there I see Amber Waves Inc. Electronics Depatment. What I am wondering is if they maybe made something that is actually in the Droid X phone itself and if so that would explain why they would put it there. That being said is there a place near the hoover dam or that makes batteries or something that would explain the power part?

This is my only problem with this whole search. I don't think it would be at a Verizon store or any other retail store at that. Reason is because it would get leaked. The more people that know about where it is the faster it would be found. The whole idea of a Verizon rep sitting in a van somewhere has the same ordeal. That being said I also don't think it would be somewhere in the open. I mean don't you think it would be kind of suspicious if some guys get out of a vehicle and place a box out in the open.. Someone would have either simply went up to it and found it or notify the police. That being said they would have to inform them of what there intentions were and we're back at square one. Someone would tell someone and you have a found Droid X and or a leak of the location that would quickly lead to someone finding it. So I mean they would have to hide it in some remote place that no one would see them and if they did that it would be a redemption code or something of the sort because you know there not just going to set a Droid X in the middle of the woods and leave it there. I honestly don't even think these things will be found. With the official release date coming fast and the type of clues there giving I don't think they will. Thing about it is though this is the only way they can do it though. If they gave you an obvious clue you have a shit load of people heading the location fighting over the phone.. Idk

I think I read somewhere there are 15 (maybe just 12) on the loose. So far, the clues have been limited to #s 1, 3, 5, 7, 12. I think they are purposely limiting it because they want to stretch the campaign out--there are still 7 of them out there which don't have any clues, but, for example, #1 has already had two clues. I think they want them to be found in a certain order and definitely not all found within the first few days. This also may have to do with this theory that there are people with the droid and so they are limited in how they do this. I'm the guy that went to Hoover dam yesterday and it's just plain stupid to think they would leave a phone sitting out in the extreme heat like that. We'll just have to see as more "real" clues come.

Oh, I also stopped at the only Verizon store in Boulder City (the town nearest to Hoover Dam) and they they didn't even know about the promotion. Right now, I'm thinking the clues are giving us just general information as to whereabouts with little things that promote the features of the X, like it being really powerful like the hoover dam, fast like a race car, amber hdmi like .....whatever, it just has hdmi.

I like the idea about #3 being at the Space Needle. High altitude on the West Coast. But, would they would put it somewhere you have to pay to get in? I don't think so.

Don't think its actually in the space needle. Don't think you can see the aviation warning lights from inside. Bet its near by though. And the st louis arch is in the heartland. Honestly i think the are not placing actual phones but messages in those locations. Probably on or near the closest verizon or motorola advertisements. Box is too complicated this day and age with terrorism. I bet when the first one is located then all the others will be soon after one we all know what to look for. That being said there has been no confirmation by verizon or motorola that this contest actually even is real

Like I said before there isn't one at texas motor speedway cause sprint sponsors it...
That's why I went to verizon wireless amphitheater looking for the one close to shoreline but inland empty parking lott no one would be there it seemed very logical

for the one close that is is "start looking at the shoreline and work inland" is suppose to be on the west coast...

doubg it would be in texas

Did you read his post?

"Like I said before there isn't one at texas motor speedway cause sprint sponsors it..."
-Meaning he was talking about the one that said start your engines...
"That's why I went to verizon wireless amphitheater looking for the one close to shoreline but inland empty parking lott no one would be there it seemed very logical'
-Then goes off another clue for a different location..

dude.

Well I'm in KC so I'm hoping that's where the "Heartland" one is...gonna go up to my local VZW tomorrow and ask the manager if he knows anything.

Im also trying to track down the phone and put together the clues and im guessing this was already suggested but for droid 1 is in the desert, in Nevada, and has the greatest amount of power next to the Hoover Dam; so im guessing that its on the Nevada side of the Hoover Dam because one side is Nevada and one side is Arizona.

I'm think an escaped Droid X should be "going to Disney World!" Or, somewhere in the Orlando/Central Florida area. ^_~ So far everyone local I've mentioned to about this says, "What's a Droid X?" They're all clueless. I'd be like the only one looking here! muwhahaha ...i hope ^_^

I think this Droid X hunt is making me crazy because during that AT&T commercial, all I could think was..."Hoover Dam!!! AHH!!! St. Louis arch!! Someone posted something about that!!! Las Vegas, Nevada! DANG!!!" ...but like others have said, my interest is fading quite quickly.
