"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

Yeah, they've already stretched it out too far. I still believe that it won't be in a location with a lot of people. Otherwise random people will take all the phones before the Twitter followers get there.

I dont think these are clues at all. I am definitely starting to lose interest.

I think one day they are just going to come out with some hey here it is clue.

Droid X designate #3 is in California. The most powerful cybernetic machine since Arnold took office.

Quick! Everyone to Cali's capital! lol ^_^ Too far of a drive for me, from Florida. lol

Again, that's how it works. The clues start off very vague and get progressively more detailed until someone gets it.

I agree. I think some of this is nonsense and some are vague clues. But, I don't believe there are any phones out in the wild yet. Someone would have found one or some blogger would be bragging about finding one by now. I know I'm not Einstein...but, with the collective power of the internet...one would have been found by now, especially by the professional tech bloggers and such.

I think one morning (maybe July 2nd?) they'll send out promotional vans, tents, etc... All at the same time or same day or maybe even different days. But, there's no boxes or "amazing race" things anywhere. They'd be seen by now. And, I assume many states, like FL, require 'lost and found' cell phones to be turned into the Sheriff's office because of identity theft and stalking. FL bars will turn over any found cell phones the next day...well, they're supposed to by law. lol ^_~

i was thinking that some of these may have already been found.. maybe they did just go to a public place and give out the phone to the first person there.

like had a camera set up like those infomercials.. here try this out lol and will play all these videos right before launch..

This is why I think this.

Their clues go like this:

Droid 1 = known to be in the desert.. then sighted in nevada.. no more clues
Droid 5 = has been reported south of Nebraska.. no more clues
Droid 3 = is near the west coast... is in California...
Droid 12 = has been spotted.. no more clues

If the next "clue" is something about Droid 3 being found/sighted/reported/spotted then I think it was found.

Just thinking and trying to convince myself this is all a waste of time and to stop trying.

Found this in California

That is definitely on the coast. Nowhere near Sacramento, unless you call a 4 hour drive "close":p

I am 1.5 hours away from the capitol and 1.5 hours away from San Gregorio...Sacramento is a better bet, but I think I still need another clue before I start driving around aimlessly.

The above, plus this other clue:
#3 should be located at higher altitude.

Makes me believe it's in/near a mountain? Several in CA. Or it could be at Lake Tahoe. No higher elevation than that out here, I don't think.

Unless this sucker is within an hour of me, I am staying put. (Besides, I am driving my wife so crazy with this obsession, she said she'd just go out and buy it for me just to be done with it!!!;))

They might just be talking about the Droid X phone itself. The only real part of the clue is that it's in California.

This is driving me crazy I am glad there is one in Cali but as much as I hope it is in So. Cal. It sounds more like No. Cal. The whole Arnold thing sucks cause he lives in So. Cal. But the Capital is up north also up north is higher altitude.

Maybe there is more then one at each location that is why there are only giving out hints to certain ones cause there is a couple in each spot

Does she have a single sister that shares her views.......

I think only the first part of the clues are the real clues and the last remarks are just clever advertisement and you'll are reading to much into it!

Personally, I don't think any of them have been found yet. The clues are still too vague at this point. It wouldn't make sense for them to just hand them out to someone at the "secret" spot. I have a feeling that they either aren't physically hidden and it's some sort of code you find, or they aren't hidden yet until the more specific hints come.

I am keeping an eye on about 4 different Android/Droid forums including this one. If one was found, even by someone not involved on the forums, I would think they would go on the internet to brag about it and make an account to post about it somewhere.

It seems like whoever is posting the tweets has a scheduler set for 10, 2, and 6 (as has been mentioned before) and they are posting them off of a script. At least the latest clue actually says what state one of them is in. The release date is still 19 days away, hopefully some better hints will come real soon.

There is also a clue that says its in nevada... so its not the first time it has been given a state.

Maybe they were found.. given time to play with then told to sign a confidentiality statement saying they wouldnt talk about it until after release and they would be shipped a free phone on launch day...

i dunno...
