System Upgrade 1.47.651..1 (21.43 MB) Now Available

Just curious. I have a rooted phone and if I don't have to wait for a new custom ROM to be developed that incorporates today's fixes, then I won't.

So what I'm trying to find out is if Sprint patched the vulnerability that allowed for root access in the first place. Is that patch included in this OTA update.

If anyone out there with the rooted supersonic rom successfully applied todays OTA update and still has root access, then it means that it is safe for everybody else to do the same.

So... anyone?
 
Received the update notification and said to do it. Downloaded and installed to some point the went to black screen no sign of life. Let it sit for 30 Min. Then returned ti to the Sprint store. Replacement on order old phone activated :-(
 
Just wanted to add to add that I updated with no problems (i was not rooted). Grounding issue is gone for sure and apps seem to open faster (namely, manage applications). I haven't noticed any difference in WiFi performance, but i only have b/g at home.

The device reported itself three times and the update took roughly 15 minutes. It Hung on the 4G screen for awhile on the last reboot but came back up fine.

You do know you have to go to menu-settings-software update to get it?

Im guessing your battery wasnt fully charged?
 
The update went fine for me as well. Took about 5 minutes total. Stock EVO from launch day with maybe 20 apps.

Living in Jacksonville, FL.

It got to be a habit to check if your Windows upgrade really applied by checking for an update again. Bad habits take a while to die.

Windows downloads/applies updates sequentially when one is dependent on another. If the first update requires a reboot you may not even see the second update until a reboot completes the first update.

Windows certainly isn't perfect, but there is a logic behind this behavior.

I'm 2 for 2 today. Geez.

I got my Evo on Thursday, was disappointed with the version of Qik that came on it (the old one, evidently). Yes, the update replaced Qik with the video call version.

Well, I thought it was cool, anyway. :o
 
Just got the update here in Los Angeles, took about 5 minutes. Had to put back all my widgets but so far so good. Everything is alot snappier for sure, lag is almost non existant.
 
I can't pick a new android wallpaper, but the one I was using is still on my screen...so did we just lose access to them?
 
I had no problems before the update, but it's now on and running smooth.

The scrolling has gotten a little faster, the friend stream loading a little quicker, and not as much jerkiness between switching on the home screens. Unrevoked yes is gone for now, but no worries, it'll be back. Everything seems to be working fine.

Speed net speed wise, i'm not sure if anyone else has had this, but my dolphin browser is flying now where it used to take a little bit to render pages. Not sure if that's connection speed or some kind of internet optimizations that were done, but it loads even graphic heavier sites quickly now.

3G Down speed according to speedtest.net: 1851kpbs. Up speed: 689kbps.

You need to wait for the developers to cook the updates into the rom you have. I am Rooted and don't want to loose it so I will not touch the update till my rom is updated. If you update more then likely you will loose root.
 
i think i'll wait until the next update lol
you guys are having too many issues. and why would they remove the feature to turn of Sense UI? makes no sense.
 
My phone has restarted itself twice now after the update. This started about an hour after I finished updating it...
