Silence A Phone Call Question

I have a question how I can silence a phone call without declining it and sending it strait to voicemail so the person knows that I purposely hit that button.

Thanks all!

If you already have that number added to your contacts list, then while on that contact's info screen, just click on the menu button -> options and lastly, click on the box that says 'incoming calls - send calls directly to voicemail'.

This isn't what the OP wants. The OP wants to mute the call and let it go to voicemail naturally, so that the person calling does not know they are being ignored :p

I would like to know how to do this as well...heh.

Can you just go into contacts, select it and give it a different/non ringtone?

Maybe record a blip of silence and use that as a "ringtone"?

Well he said that he wants that person to know he purposely let it go to voice mail? hmm that's the only way I can think of... or answer and hang up if you want to avoid that person that much? lol

Hehe, read it again. It's poorly worded, but the intention is to NOT let the person know they are being sent to voicemail, but also to not have to hear the ringtone play out.

Hitting the volume button on the side will silence the call, and let it go to voicemail.

Excellent!

I know what the OP is asking for, and it works the same as it did on my Blackberry.

Pressing the volume rocker will silence the ringer, but the call will continue. It will not be sent immediately to voicemail.

It took me several tries reading it but I got it now, thanks haha. But yeah, hitting the volume button would definitely work...
