"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

What were you looking for and did you look EVERYWHERE at the HOF? And did you ask multiple people about it?

We were looking for/at everything we could think of. Mostly looked through the Elvis section though.

Asked quite a few employees. They all said they never heard of any of this.

Hey guys.

Me and a friend just got back from the Hall of Fame. No luck.

The one thing that made us really start to think it was there was this previous tweet on June 26th:

Droid X designate #12 has been spotted in the heartland. Sending out amber waves of hdmi.

Any ideas??

Did the person who wrote the song "America the Beautiful" happen to be in there? Did you look? I don't have any idea who that is, but just a guess.

Did you check the Hard Rock Cafe? Someone mentioned VZ and HR are corporate partners and there is a HR in Cleveland.

Elvis did a remake of this song. Which is what made us think to look there.

We didnt have enough time to check it out. =/

What about the fact that at the end of the latest update it says "it has no choice". Maybe it is surrounded by rock music as in near a club or something.

Hmmm. So #12 is in Ohio and rocks but is NOT at the R&R HOF. #1 is in Nevada, has power, maybe near the Hoover Dam, sees flashing lights & levers pulled and in a desert, but it is not at the Sahara Casino.
Either the phones are not yet planted (doubtful), the clues are still too vague (probable), or we are dead on and they just weren't looked for in the correct spots at these locations (possible). I doubt the average employee will have any ideas what we are asking about, but someone at the venue MUST know in case they see people snooping around so we don't get arrested. Let's get the next clue for #3 in CA and see where it leads us!

That would insinuate the Hard Rock Cafe to me. I am beginning to wonder if it is indeed in Cleveland after the previous tweet that mentioned "amber waves".

There are quite a few hard rock's around the country aren't there? I remember seeing a restaurant in San Francisco, there's a HR Casino in Tampa, one in Vegas, etc.

It's probably nothing but it doesn't hurt to speculate :)

"The enhanced vision of Droid X would be the perfect tool to help you find one. Ironic."

Do you think this is talking about the fact Android can find coordinates?

Can it? I posted ealier that Verizon was giving a free month's trial of VZ Navigator, but I don't think it can use coordiantes to find things. Someone replied, Droid Does. How the hell are supposed to use a tool on something that we don't have yet? Ironic...no. Stupid...yes.

Ok, wth does that mean?!

Give me a break. They're getting more vague.

Sounds like a "filler" clue to me. Not a real clue, just another delay. Hopefully some REAL clues will come this weekend.

Someone suggested the Layar app, but..

Being someone who is wanting to get the X as his first smartphone, I don't have access to this. I'm betting I'm not the only person in this situation either, and for them to make this a hunt that gives an advantage to current Droid users, I call total BS!!!

Look what's showing at the 13-14 second mark of this video, "Find the best hidden places"!!!!:

Don't worry- I'm on a Droid and I don't have a clue WTF to do with their clue.

I'm thinking whatever markers reveal these phones have to do with eyes. There are simply too many references to ignore that possibility. Disappointing to hear of no progress at the HOF.

Now I'm almost certain of it. Look at the link posted by @Ktothe****ingB on twitter. Is anyone near this location?

The "enhanced vision" got me to thinking about the camera as well.
I remember one of the first clues that the Wii sensor bar wasn't a sensor at all came about because someone took a picture of it with a digital camera and the camera picked up the IR lights. Maybe something along those lines will be going on in the correct locations? http://rhettmaxwell.org/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2006/11/file-6bin.jpeg

Huh? It's still a sensor bar. The IR lights help the system sense the position of the controllers...
And I'm pretty sure it was well known that there were IR lights in there before a picture was taken of it. I remember a pre-release video from Nintendo that explained how it worked.

So does that mean that Droid X #1 is only out in Old Las Vegas at night, and sleeping in a hotel room during the day resting up from its hangover?

These filler clues are BS...They aren't real clues. How could they be?

My point was that cameras can see things we can't, thus enhancing our vision, and it wouldn't be too hard or costly to place a flashing IR beacon where the phone/token/certificate is hidden.

I will admit that a major drawback to that is it may not be visible in daylight, but this is all speculation, right?
