Accessories 2150mAh HTC extended battery

I also have the 2150mAh battery and I love it. It'll go two days easy, and I've totally abandoned battery-saving techniques. I use a soft silicone case and just cut the back out where the back is extended, exactly like what was done in the HTC 2150 + Dremel + VZW Red Case thread. Except I just needed scissors. :)
 
Folks, after looking at the Seidio 3500 and this 2150 battery cover, it seems that the Seidio cover not much bigger (if at all), but 1250 more mah and $50 through Amazon with free delivery.

It would be nice to see them both compared next to each other, in regards to size, since a funky hump is a funky hump- might as well get the extra juice.

Update:

3500 is almost the same cover size, but reports of far better battery life. I posted a thread to get people's take on both.
 
this is my second day using the battery and so far I haven't noticed much difference from the HTC 1500mah. Is this to be expected for the first couple of days?

The only thing I could offer would be to ask how your signal strength was today compared to other days.

In my opinion and in my limitted testing everyday of sitting in a poor signal strength area in the office - I think signal strength is number 1 killer of battery when the device is in a "not being used" state and in poor coverage.

The phone might still be calibrated for the 1500mah battery. Fully charge the battery, use it till the phone shuts off. Fully charge it again. That should reset the calibration.
 
I love the 2150 battery.. but recently I put my original battery back and boy! did I forget how good the phone feels with the original battery!.. slim and light.

I am going back to the original battery.. I got a couple of original size batteries and a battery wall charger from ebay for 13 bucks (including 2 screen protectors with it)..

one the biggest appeal of the droid incredible is the slimness and the feather weight.. after having used the 2150 battery.. when I went back to the original battery.. it seems like night and day.. with the original battery I can just about get through a day.. which is enough.. and plus, with the 2 1500mah batteries that I got from ebay.. I'll never run out of charge.

I am going to return my 2150 battery back to verizon.
 
the problem with the 2150 battery, in retrospect now after having gone back to the original battery.. is I guess the location of the center of mass. the c.g. is completely shifted to the bottom half of the phone.. while i thought initially that I liked the heavy feel.. the feel of the phone with the original battery is MUCH superior because now my weight is not concentrated on one portion of the phone. It just feels much better on the hand.

I switched back to the original today just to try it one more time to see if I can make it the whole day. i am trying to use it as much as I was using the extended battery. If I can't make it I will reluctantly switch back to the extended. The phone does feel 100 times better with the stock battery and cover. I didn't realize how much my poor pinky was suffering from holding the weight of the extended battery until I went back to the stock. I have an Evo battery on the way so i will try that too.

charge your battery with the power turned off.. that'll give you a significant boost and hopefully let you use ur phone with the stock battery for a whole day for your usage.
 
I just got my 2150 battery in the mail , I believe I paid like $42 or something like that with free 2day shipping. Put it on with a VZW Black Silicon Case (with the back modified to fit of course) and really it feels pretty good, I actually like the feel better as I sometimes thought even with the silicon case on the phone was a little too small for me. I actually haven't used the battery yet just put the back on to test fit it , I have the battery charging seperatly right now

Yeah, I know about the bump charge with the phone off but unfortunately I can't have my phone off as I am on call. So the best I can do is the bump charge with the phone on. HTC could solve my problem by just fixing the issue but judging by the emails that went back and forth between me and them I doubt it will happen.

I think this bump charge effect is by design considering the low Charge Rate that happens to top off a battery - I'm still willing to bet that its rather conflicting when the device sources power from the battery while its being charged - low current draw from the battery would definitely hinder charging the battery.

I'm in the same boat as you being on call. What I do now is I charge it normally while I'm sleeping and then I can just turn it off while I'm taking a shower and that usually does it . I usually get about 2-4 hrs off the first 10% of the battery with the 1750

I felt exactly the same when I got my 2150. It actually felt good in my hands.. but going back to the original now.. I am gonna stick with the original..

You can get the stock size battery (two of them actually) and wall battery charger which will let you charge the batteries without the phone. It's available on ebay for $13.49 including shipping and screen protectors.
 
This battery is really awesome. I highly recommend it to all Incredible owners who are not happy with the stock battery. Don't worry about size or shape, the phone is very comfortable to hold with this new back and it looks a lot better in person than pictures make it seem. I have an official Verizon belt pouch for the phone that holds the phone even with the extended battery just fine.
 
I don't really care so much about how good the phone feels in my hands with the extended battery because nothing beats the feeling of knowing that I don't have to worry whether I'll be able to make through the day with one charge and not having to constantly check this and that and turn this off and on and read the battery percentage.......... Sanity!

+1 From Me, its a plus that the 2150 bat from htc feels good, but when I use that battery I am more thrilled with the fact that I am gonna make it through the day... I bought the SEIDIO clip/spring holster for the times I have this battery in the phone.
 
So yesterday I used my stock battery like I wasn't afraid it was going to die. I got 13 hours of what I consider heavy use. 13 hours doesn't quite cut it for me as I am awake 16-20 hours a day. So I will be going back to the extended battery and I will deal with the back cover that i don't personally like. I just wish it was rounded on the ends. The Evo battery I have on the way probably won't cut the mustard either but I will give it a shot.
 
I just finished the initial charge with the phone OFF yesterday. After it finished, I've had it on and uncharged for about 12 hours. Currently at 60% battery life. Most of that time was spent idle while I slept (7 hrs?), so very light usage -- one phone call and a few text messages and gtalk messages.

I'm going to let the battery drain down to red today, then give it another full charge. I do know that my factory battery would have been out of juice by now, so I'm happy enough that it lasted as long as it has.

Over the weekend I plan to run my Lord of the Ring trilogy on it just to see how long the battery holds up with continuous video.
 
just got my 2150 today. i had it shipped to me at work, and i can only charge via USB here. so i've currently got the 2150 installed, the phone is off, and it's charging via USB. can anyone tell me how long their first charge took under similar circumstances? i am dying to get this thing to green and put it through it's paces.
