Hey you tried! :D

Who knows? Maybe they will give a more specific clue if no one finds it.

To summarize: You saw nothing. :p We've decided that was a city clue, I think. Must've been fun to look though! :D

Nice work, this is definitely a fun experience even if none of us find one. And I'm getting the feeling that this forum will be a place I'll stick around to fulfill my nerdy tech-talk needs.

I've officially killed about 4 hours of my time (and my wife's time too) looking for #7, so I'm reluctantly waiting for another clue to see if I'm even on the right track... :(

I agree with you. With all of the HDMI references and clues like "When someone says look at that, you'd better look" or "Droid X shoots in 720p. Which means you can really see the look on your face when you find one." or "Droid X is like no other phone. You

Good job on the hunting, sorry you didn't find it! Maybe anther clue for #3 will come soon and we can narrow it down some more.

it was fun but i doubt i will do it again. wife thinks it is a HUGE waste of time...damn

Haha, mine is the same way. I mentioned that I'd be saving the $200 to buy the phone if I found it but at this point I think she'd rather just have me spend the money. :D

Out of curiosity (and a bit of spying for more info) what is the other forum that has some good info on the hunt?

This forum has the best info I could find. Howardforums has one and Androidcentral has one. About the only thing I've gained from these two forums is that the "Droid X rocks" is a reference to the song, Cleveland Rocks. But we already thought it was in Cleveland.

Edit: #12, that is.

Something I thought of for the Ohio phone- there was the clue that it is "sending out amber waves of hdmi". The amber waves could be a reference to "amber waves of grain"... farmland?

EDIT: The neck of the hard rock guitar lights up in amber... maybe the phone can see the guitar? And is projecting images of it onto a screen/display?

EDIT again: Also, the cityscape you can see from the hard rock looks pretty amber at night (according to google images)...

*Hears the sound of a whip.* Just make sure she knows you'll be saving potentially $600. ;)

ummm, no! i have been on this and twitter since day one, so she's really had enuff by now. this waa my shot to save $200. oh well

Off to a 4th BBQ at the in-laws. If any more hints appear I'll be on it (thank you Blackberry Twitter app). Good luck!

#3 may not be on lombard, but in the near area?

Yeah, the HoFo one pretty much died down, and the from the looks of it, the Android Central one isn't very active either.

This could just be because of the weekend, however.

This one has always been better than those. When this first started I was kind of worried that everyone would keep to themselves and not share ideas. Glad I was wrong. :D

Just got back from Huntsville, Alabama. Passed a police car there and on his tag on the rear it said "Heart of Dixie". Had fun at the US Space and Rocket Center. Saw the Star Wars exhibit. The Saturn V rocket is HUGE, bigger than the Empire State Building. Found nothing there. Checked both Verizon stores that show up on google, they are both corporate, neither had heard of the promotion. Drove by a Verizon call center that shows up on google, was not anywhere obvious there, they have security there. Did not think about asking at lost and found at the space center.

If anyone is near or will be near Huntsville, you should go see the Star Wars exhibit. It will be there until September 6.

I also checked Best Buy in Huntsville due to one clue saying the Droid X had all the accessories it needed. Checked the phone section, the camera section and the TV section in case it was hooked up to a tv.

My wife had fun. Did not think it would be worth going back if we get another clue until I told her the $600 price tag. She will let me go back by myself if we get a better clue.

I did not go by Marshall Space Flight Center due to security, thought they might not let me leave if I went and started asking about missing droids .

Heh, if I find out anything about #5 I'm holding those cards close to the chest until I have a chance to check it out for myself :D

Did anyone try the Verizon store on Lombard St in San Francisco? Google says there is one there...
