"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

said surfacing not landing.....wonder if those words mean something or looking to much into it lol

I have the inclination that the terms "surfacing" and "landing" have no significance to the clue. The "landing" phrase seems to be just tied back to the orignal campaign for the droid and "surfacing" has to do with them being escaped phones on the run. I could be wrong, but I'm not looking to deep into those two words.

I interpreted it as a play on submarines surfacing. Since it's a landlocked state it's gotta be powerful to just surface out of the ground like that..

Hey guys, been following along for a while and decided to start posting. Right now I'm looking for #12 cause I'm in dayton, ohio.

Some things I've thought about... maybe the word "state" should be thought of as condition its in rather than the literal term for state. I've been looking for double meanings in the clues. Another one I noticed was the clue about "Just like the people where it landed". I think it was for the one in new york. I think maybe this is saying you'd better like the people where it landed, maybe referring to die hard yankees fans? Seems kind of out there but its just a few thoughts I've had.

The following is a list of landlocked states in the United States. They are all located in the U.S. mainland. The definition of a landlocked state is one that does not touch an ocean. There are 23 landlocked states in the country.

Um, where's Ohio on your list? Pennsylvania?...
Wikipedia is wrong... Goes to show you that you can't always trust Wikipedia!

Maybe "surfacing" does mean something.. Maybe they're keeping up with this thread and saw that I didn't even think the actual droid x units were in the wild already haha

ohio and pa both touch lake erie....

Landlocked states are states that don't boarder OCEAN, not lakes...
And that still wouldn't make sense because Michigan, Wisconson, Minnesota, Indiana and Illinois all boarder one or more of the great lakes as well... and they're on the list.

I thought I remembered a tweet saying some of the phones would be found in time to watch the fireworks, but can not find it now. Does anyone else remember that tweet?
It wasn't a tweet. It was someone on another forum that was releasing a lot of early information. I believe he later took it back and said the release date was changing because of hardware changes. Not 100% sure though.

I don't read the other forums. I thought it was tweeted around July 1 in relation to the contest.
