"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

Went Geocaching to day with the Wife and she is hooked. So if one is in SC, NC, and maybe Richmond, VA, or Savannah GA. We are definitely searching for it. With these geocaches we found some really small containers and some decent size containers that were actually hidden really well. We found 3 today and only one had damage from the elements. Which was the "owners" fault. They were in peanut butter cans, little lock and store box, a plastic container that was 10" tall and 5" wide, and even a rubbermaid box. I was impressed!

Lesson learned today you can easily get a good watertight containers and hide them in public site. All 3 of the ones I found today were in public places that I go by daily. One was by a library, a college, and apartments. Even with the bomb scares you really can't rule that out.

Can you give examples of where they hide this stuff? In bushes, under stuff, what?

Why not combine the clues for #14? Producing the direction North, a state with cows, and with State Bird (Cardinal) and Drink (Milk). North Carolina -not exactly midwest or Minnesota
.

Correct. North Carolina is definitely not Midwest. Therefore it is not there. :D

what was in the containers?

Little trinkets, toy soldiers, military badges(in a military town), bracelets, mardi gras beads, just litte odds and ends. The coolest was a GeoLab (a little plastic dog) that had a tracking number on it. It has traveled from Illinois to Tennessee back up to Ohio and then down here in North Carolina. Im going out of state in a few weeks and will definitely take it with me and hide it there.

One was in a hole at the base of a tree. One was hidden in the plastic fence guards you see around baseball fields, and the other one was hidden underneath a bush. We went to 2 sites today and couldn't find them at all.

Unless we were looking for them we would have never found them at all.

Thought I would update this a bit, from another member originally

-Droid X shoots in 720p. Which means you can really see the look on your face when you find one.
-Droid X is like no other phone. You

Please let it be North Carolina but I doubt it.

Here are the states that have the cardinal as their state bird:
Illinois
Indiana
Kentucky
North Carolina
Ohio
Virginia
West Virginia

That's what I'm thinking. It is too general a clue to not be regarding st. louis cardinals. Why narrow down from a dozen states to seven?

Doesn't seem like they would've gotten that specific with the "Northern Cardinal" if they were talking about the St. Louis Cardinals. That's just my opinion.

Droid X designate #16 is showing the “Show Me State” hdmi, 4.3” screen and 720p video capture.

Missouri? Booo. Must be in St. Louis.

There is a Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in St. Louis...

There is one here in Virginia Beach as well. I drove around the parking lot the other day hunting for an X haha..

Back to St Louis, there are lots of places to put it at an amphitheater, may very well be there.

Does anyone else think it is weird how these clues are coming out? 2 clues for #14 in 2 days, and yet only 1 for #6 so far. I wonder if anything is behind this.

could it possibly be some sort of word replacement like HDMI means something else

HDMI = ?
1Ghz processor = ?
8 MegaPixal camera = ?
720p = ?

I don't know. I was trying to figure something out but couldn't. Any ideas?

Ok guys, I contacted a person in this thread about possibly making him the OP to update the twitter updates coming in. I have not heard back from him but I want to put this out there incase someone else wants to do it (figured I prefer to just get whoever's the first person willing as the contest is almost over). Do any of you guys want to do this? You would have to make a list stating all the designates with their respective #'s, then include all the twitter updates pertaining to that #. In addition, the most obvious part is just keeping up with the new updates that @droidlanding puts out. This will make it easier for people (both new and old) to read and possible figure out the location. Let me know if anyone would like to do this and I'll make you the OP so you can edit the first post in this thread.

I agree that the entire thing is weird. At least give one solid clue so that one of them can be found already. We're getting to the point where the Droid X is about to come out anyway.

I still think the tweets are being auto-tweeted on a schedule via HootSuite.
