"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

hey mahers just got an idea.

So people are saying maybe they are near billboards...... So i did a quick twitter Search for droid billboard and came up with this: @shisto A new and improved droid billboard:WHAT'S THE HAPS ON THE APPS?

so I reply to him and try and find out where he saw it, nothing yet, but he did post right before it that he was going through a town called: Vacaville,CA

a quick Google map of Vacaville,CA shows it right near rt.80.....

not saying its gotta be there but it goes along with some of the theory's thrown out there, try it out see if you can find the billboard......

Vacaville is about an hours drive from San Francisco, doubt they would give a hint like Lombard street if it's that far away hehe..

Now I wish that this giveaway had it's own sub-forum with a separate thread for each designation #...it's getting too confusing.

What's so confusing? Not really THAT much going on... And the first page, first post has a rundown of what we know/think so far.

This needs to be irc, so I wouldn't have to keep hitting refresh, lol. Wish I had a way to have all these posts just pushed right to me the second they happen.

Good idea!
I created an IRC channel, if anyone is interested in chatting there...

It's on the server: Slashnet

And the channel name is: DroidXHunt

Hmm, Wikipedia must be wrong... again

New York is NOT a part of New England.... (how dare you :))

New York I think is considered Tri-state region.
New England is: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

... by the way... why isnt there a droid x in New england?!?!

If I drive back up there I have to drive right through Vacaville on 80. If he posts the location and it's not over in the "hood" somewhere I'll check it out lol.. :D

Well, WE don't want them! :D

hey western new yorkers reading this, lets figure out what seems to point to us, #13 is somewhere along the ny canada border? ideas...i got some but still don't know if we are supposed to find the dx in the open or at a verizon store...

There is a Nebraska Ave in the southern Dallas area. It happens to be a short back road that dead-ends with a overgrown area at the dead-end. It happens to intersect with Graceland Ave just north of the dead-end. There is at least 1 car being worked on on the street when viewed via street view. The way I look at it, Nebraska Ave is near the grassy knoll (Which may have been the city clue), Nebraska Ave is both way south of Nebraska the state and the name itself, Graceland the tourist attraction is way south of Nebraska the state (other roads in the area have state names but are not as far south as Graceland). The dead-end is on the southern tip of Nebraska Ave. After you finish working on your car, you start your engine. Man am I grasping at straws or what...

Where are you? My guess is Sac.

Further sadly. :(

I live in Yuba City, Thankfully I live outside the City limits at the southern end out in the "country". So I take 99 to Hwy 113 and come out just past the college in Davis avoiding at least some of the traffic..

Just a random thought: is there any chance these are in the congressional districts of the state represented by the designate #? Example: #1 is las vegas, #4 is New York (well closer to long island), #5 Dallas, #13 NY, #16 St. Charles. #12 doesn't really match the thought process of most though (Cleveland "Rocks" - 12th district is Columbus)

I was out by Lincoln/Roseville the other day:)

Only thing I saw at I-80 when I entered and left San Fran was a huge ass billboard for the Ipad lol! It's literally right there where you enter and exit the freeway into the city.
There is a Droid billboard going towards 280. Once you get off the bay bridge, if continue going straight, there is a big one. I think thats the only one in SF.

I don't think they'd put a phone in Vacaville. Its a small city mainly of outlet malls.. ironically, thats where I bought my last phone from Verizon. 80 literally runs through my city.. maybe its in my back yard!!;)
