"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

DroidLanding Droid X designate #20 is in the northeast. If you just left there on your search, turn around.

Ok well this tweet references a "search" so I don't think we are crazy anymore for assuming this is a hunt for these phones rather than a list of the phones being pre-shipped.

A search for the Fed Ex truck. I am not sure I believe them anymore after last night. I need some confirmation this thing is real.

I am still going to follow and hope I am VERY wrong.

I would actually read that as, if you already gave up -- go back.

it's in the northeast, I doubt anyones out there randomly looking for it in the northeast before that clue was even dropped, unless the droidlanding twitter is reading our post and seeing some people are indeed giving up.

no it says if you left there after your hunt, turn around because they are there....

^^ That's the way I was reading it.. "if you left there to go somwhere else to look for them go back, because they are in the Northeast."

EDIT: By "them/they" I mean "it"

For folks in Chicago -- found this story online --

A giant eyeball sculpture was unveiled in a local park Wednesday (7/7).

This eye is 30 feet tall and was the vision of Chicago contemporary artist Tony Tasset.

Tasset designed a similar, but much smaller, piece for St. Louis.

The sculpture is made of steel-reinforced fiberglass and is blue, like the artist’s eyes.

yea, theres some in the northeast, because they already drop NY clues, North near Canada, but I need some MD, DC, Baltimore clues please.....

Someone suggested stalking the FedEx trucks yesterday... I say let's do it. It's not the US Postal Service so it's not a federal crime right?? :D

Get us an address on the smaller one

Kinda like where this is going check this out from the article :

"CLA executive director Ty Tabing announced that Eye and its companion piece Cardinal (a series of banners along State Street, which depict our state bird in flight) will remain in the Loop until October"

In addition, a free, downloadable Loop the Loop walking tour of public art, including the Tasset exhibition and permanent installations by Calder, Miro, Chagall, Picasso and Kapoor is available on the Chicago Loop Alliance website. The tour is also available via pre-loaded MP3 players on loan at the ArchiCenter at 224 S. Michigan Avenue and the information kiosk at Block 37 at 108 N. State Street.

We need to remember some of the first clues that applies to all the phones. We are missing something important....

Okay these two contradict their selves... are the moving or are the put?

theres one just a block or two away from the dallas clue...

I wouldn't be able to check until tomorrow afternoon. Anybody else closer to there want to look?

1201 Elm St.
Suite # 2100
Dallas, TX 75270

It says it's indoors, also.

And it's in the Ren Plaza, where Morbid was thinking earlier. It took everything in me not to go there, but as others said, what would I do at the kiosk? Type in "Gimme a Droid X"? Would it be taped to the back of the kiosk? Nothing at all has hinted at the kiosks being the solution... yet.

Come on, Solo...be our guinea pig :D

Then again, there are no kisoks in or around San Francisco, so that theory is bunk!

lol

I might go tomorrow mid-morning (try and avoid traffic) for the halibut. Poke around a bit. The Ren Plaza just seems like it HAS to be considered: viewing distance from the grassy knoll, the Ewing Oil "start your engines" thing, two giant X's on the building, and Blockbuster Inc. located inside...

Droid X designate #18 is near the Mall of America. Possibly visiting the Verizon Wireless store there.

Alrighty then. Have to admit, seems really odd that we just jumped from general to specific so quickly for a location. This is only the second clue for #18.

ok...so while i've been busy at work today, i've mulled over some thoughts...

this is a real hunt...if it wasn't they probably would've stopped the tweets today instead we have more specific clues for some phones...

if we assume the hunt is real---
i agree the clues are going region>state>city>location

as eeyore just said, we can't forget the general clues...

i don't think these are going to be left unattended...

my opinion of the "hey, look at that" is not that its going to be someone pointing out the droids on purpose (like a vw employee) but more likely random people that don't know whats going on referring to whatever display has been set up...

Could possibly be plugged into a hdtv to get attention

disregard my earlier nasa correlation...

I think they will start to be found this weekend...
and once the first is found, they are going to be all found pretty quickly...

They are going to be located in heavily populated areas, doesn't make sense to put it somewhere that isn't busy...

So far the closest identifiers we have so far are the grassy knoll in dallas and lombard st. in san fran...both have heavy foot traffic, lots of tourists...

as mentioned by several people earlier, let's keep it simple cuz you have to think like a suit...

I gotta believe its gonna be a real interesting weekend...

and lastly, i really hope #13 is in buffalo, ny! haha
