"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

Sorry if this has been posted already but for thos of you that are pissed (understandably) the rules also state this:

Sponsor and its Parties and their respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees and agents, and any and all Internet servers and access provider(s) (collectively, the "Releasees") are not responsible for: any incorrect or inaccurate information; human error; technical malfunctions; failures, omission, interruption, deletion, or defect of any telephone network, computer online or e-mail systems, computer equipment, servers, providers, or software, including any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation or inability to participate in this Promotion; inability to retrieve any clues from Twitter; theft, tampering, destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of clues; data processing that is processed late or incorrectly or is incomplete or lost due to telephone, computer or electronic malfunction or traffic congestion on telephone lines or the Internet or any website; or for any other errors or problems of any kind relating to or in connection with the Promotion, whether computer, network, technical, printing, typographical, human or otherwise or any combination thereof, including, without limitation, any errors or problems which may occur in connection with the administration of the Promotion, the Scavenger Hunt clues or in any Promotion-related materials. Material(s) provided by Sponsor on Twitter are only to be used solely for the purposes of this Promotion and cannot be used for any other purpose or use. By entering the Promotion, entrants affirm that they have read and accepted these Official Rules.

Since i am ineligible because I work for Verizon (network security) I'll still help anyone in the Dallas area. (no i'm not a mole)
Also for those of you that DONT work for Verizon, the execs make stupid mistakes like NOT posting the rules until 2 weeks after the 1st tweet ALL the time. you can also expect more inaccuracies in the tweets as well.
Good luck to all!

Yes, but they can control the "vagueness" of the coordinates depending on how many digits they supply. It could be just a few feet to tens of feet to hundreds of feet. I could see them sending coordinates within a hundred feet or so. That's about as good as a specific street address.

Yes Verizon would know how vague the coordinates would be but THE HUNTERS won't have any idea. Everybody with a GPS would go to the exact spot of the tweet not knowing if it was off by 50 feet or 500. If all they did was give a clue that led to an area like a park, then people would be scattered all over that area.

Way more important. Just fork over the money if you have it. If not do the NE2 deal and if you have to wait for that to end there will be a bigger better phone out buy then. The X will only be the King for a few months. I don't think the Droid 2 will knock it down but I do believe the holiday season phones will.

What he said ^^

Rumored specs of the Samsung Galaxy i9200 include:

Well, that's about 40 minutes old... That was posted ^ there somewhere. lol

Edit: Post #3008

hmm my twitter is acting goofy, I had just refressed my screen and as you can see it said posted 2 minutes ago. now it says posted 30mins ago....go figure.
twitter is also reporting as being over capacity intermittently

True this phone will not be number 1 forever, but not everyone buys the latest phone, each few months one comes out. lol I know I could never afford that. ^_~ I'm actually still using my T-Mobile Sidekick (an older one, with the 4 blue lights on each corner, non 3g). It's 2 years old and still works fine for what I need.

However, it is old, my T-Mobile contract is up, and although T-Mobile's been good to me, I just am not liking any of the smart phones they have available. I've played with the newer models, and they may be great phones, but I just don't like them.

So, I'm ready to switch to Verizon and I like the Droid X. I hope it'll last me another 2 or 3 years. ^_^

PS: Correction, sure, I probably could afford a new phone every 6 months or so, as they aren't really that expensive....I'd just rather waste my money on other things. ^_~

So, first GPS coordinates make it too exact and ruin the fun and now GPS coordinates are too vague? Isn't that "the fun" of it? ;)

Good afternoon everyone! Been actually working today. Doesn't seem that any are in GA....maybe 21 or 19....that's about it. I'm about 15 minutes from downtown ATL during the day, so if it's posted...I may all of a sudden come down with a strange illness and have to leave work early...LOL. :) Just please god let it not be during rush hour! @mattdouglaschambers, where in ATL are you? North, South, Intown? I work in norcross less than 5 minutes from 85...

VzW_NYMetro just retweeted the last Tweet from DroidLanding. Maybe NY will finally see theirs released? The last one for #4 said it had made it to the "capital of the world".

I'm personally champing at the bit waiting for more info on #4.

And yes, long lurker, finally poking my head out and saying hi.

I'm not actually in ATL, I just put it there because I'm close. I'm about 10-15 mins from 85, so it'd take me about 20-30 minutes to actually get to any place inside the perimeter. I'm not a threat since it's a race now

They're always over capacity.

I'm right at 5 points so I've got you beat in a race ;) though I doubt there will be one here. maybe the VZW amphitheater in Alpharetta?

I'm hoping its somewhere in North ATL OTP. I work in Norcross and Live in Marietta.....My cousin lives in alpharetta...i could always send him but he'd probably keep it for himself that bastard. LOL

Maybe, I think it's more likely to be near a Verizon store since there's got to be a camera crew nearby "hidden"

Well then you can help me out! :)

I help everyone out when there's a good clue haha. Don't worry I won't discriminate unless they say it's in Peachtree City,Fayetteville, or Newnan. Then you're on your own.

Doh! Thats not what I was trying to say at all. Mea Culpa.

I personally hope this is more of a Scavenger Hunt with clues that must be solved, than a Geo Caching event with coordinates that must be searched.

Hmmmm it appears they have a corporate campus in Duluth...google maps says its 14 minutes from my office which means i can make it there in 7...LOL

Oh good another useless clue.

"Several Droid X designates are pinging us. Stand by."

OMG!!! Pinging!?!?!? It's a DDOS attack. Everyone shut off your machines. :p
