i just don't see them doing this in an actual store...
plus with video equipment as good/small as it is now, its prob not a video crew but one person blending in with the rest of the tourists

Think I would have to agree. Don't forget about the Space center in Huntsville.
 
Alrighty. I just mentioned this in the chat room but I thought I would point out something we missed.

Before the rules there is the Eligibility section.

Employees of Verizon Wireless (the "Sponsor"), McGarry Bowen, Marketing Werks, Don Jagoda Associates, Inc. etc etc

Let's take a look at the last 3.

McGarry Bowen: http://www.mcgarrybowen.com/
These are the people responsible for the Droid TV Commercials. I'm going to guess that they will be on hand filming at each of the locations.

Marketing Werks: Verizon Marketing Event | Experiential Marketing | Mobile Marketing | Event Marketing
They have worked for Verizon in the past. Specifically on a campaign that used 13 Verizon-branded hummers. Would they reuse those Hummers for this campaign? Maybe. I definitely think they will be responsible for whatever we are trying to find/hunt down.

Don Jagoda Associates, Inc.: Don Jagoda Associates: Sweepstakes, Contests, Games, Incentives
DJA specializes in "SWEEPSTAKES, CONTESTS & GAMES". Basically, these are the people responsible for all the tweets over the past 2 weeks (and going forward).

Alright, that's my initial analysis. Going to look into these guys a little more.

Thoughts?

Agreed on all three...I was thinking, man, that's a lot of companies involved, but it sounds dead on. I'll be on the lookout for a Droud Hummer in SF!!
 
I'll check out McGarry Bowen on LinkedIn to see if I can find names of people that work there and track down their twitter accounts. Maybe they posted something on their personal twitter acct that could be of use.
 
i'd still say that this is going to be a hunt. as mentioned above by people with geocaching experience, the location given will probably be the center point to start looking from with a given distance to search in...how big, depends on the area...i still think the certificates will be hidden to reduce fist fights over who got it first...i don't think they will have someone standing there holding it b/c that person would get trampled by a stampede...as for the hummers, i doubt it cause it would be too obvious and NOTHING AND I MEAN NOTHING about this contest so far has been obvious, why start now.

as for the ad campaign, they are going to want to film people gotcha style for the biggest emotional effect...i really believe they will try to hide in plain sight.

oh and there have been almost 1000 new people following the twitter account since 9am.
