"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

I'm going on vacation with the fiance and her family to a cabin in Montana. No cell reception, internet, cable, etc. Leaving 11th coming back 25th.

Needless to say, I can sort of feel your pain.

Maybe DroidLanding will drop the X in Chicago today or tomorrow. Here's to hoping.

Don't go! It sounds like a trap. ^_~

I AM IN MASSACHUSETTS! I saw the Pilgrim tweet 30 minutes after it was posted when I was in a Verizon store asking for a demo Droid X. They didnt have one so i played with the incredible and checked DroidLanding. Saw that tweet and freaked out. Already knew that it is Plymouth Rock and immediately googled directions. I got there at 7:50 and looked around. Took me 50 minutes to fight through the traffic to get there.

NOTHING. No cameras. Plenty of tourists and a few sketchy looking people probably looking for the Droid X too. A guy wearing a green Dunder Mifflin shirt, a guy with a gray Army shirt... hmmm.

I'm guessing it was a "general" clue to let Massholes know theres one there.... now I'm signing up for twitter. I'll be hunting for the droidx to represent you guys!!!!!

Wish me luck!
HEY!! I was there too! Girl in a black t shirt, and shorts. Which one were you?? I stayed til 10 last night, and I'm pissed! Wow small world.

I still don't get the second clue for Detroit. What are they talking about when they say the people can take anything thrown at them? Is that supposed to be about the collapse of the US car manufacturers? I think that could be said for any city.

WTF.. .Just found out today that I have to be in Mobile, AL next week for work (got to love corporate America!).. Now I need to find a Verizon store in Alabama that I can go to on the 15th. FML !
Also have to explain to our client why I will be late on the 15th.. Please chime in with good excuses I can use ?

flat tire, got lost??

HOLY SHIT! Just wiki'd it and Birmingham is the "Pittsburgh of the South"!

They should get a football team and name them "Steelers...Part Deux!

Other clues are major metropolitan and largest cement plant..

the cement plant would point to Michigan (although outdated?), along with the modern streetlight, which seems to be credited to the officer in Detroit.

Seems they fooled you on at least one. Don't forget the previous clues ;)
I think the new clues restores the faith in the "hunt." If you have not been paying attention since the beginning, you are not going to be in the right place. GPS coordinates are no good if you are not even in the right state! ;)

Good question... They saying people in Detroit are tough? Eluding to Joe Lewis throwing punches?... who knows.

Could it be the recent baseball call for the Tigers?

Didn't they say three days in an earlier tweet? I'm so confused...
From the front page...
#21: Possible location(s): Washington DC
-With a 1Ghz processor Droid X designate #21 is a center of power. Good thing it will be in this city in 2 days.
-In 3 days, Droid X designate #21 will be in a state that- Wait, it isn't a state. That's okay. Droid X isn't just a phone.
-Back to the east coast for a Droid designate #21 sighting. Tell the family you

WTF! Since when is Birmingham, AL the city built on steel????

BULL SHIT I SAY!

Birmingham, AL used to be known as the Pittsburg of the South. During the civil war, Alabama produced 4x more steel than any other state had ever produced (before that point in time).

Wow... talked on the phone and came back to post this little fun fact i learned in middle school and realized i was waaaay to slow. Oh well. :)

I agree it's a bad clue... But Birmingham is known as the "Pittsburgh of the South".

Yeah, but I guess it makes morons like me, who don't pay attention to the other clues get their hopes up for pittsburgh, when in reality it's alabama...

We get it, alabama rules the steel market.

They should call Pittsburgh the Birmingham of the North.

The roonies already have the team packed up and are heading to birmingham.

Haha I'm glad I wasn't the only one that fell for that update. I was in the area and I couldn't resist the temptation of at least checking it out. Black dress pants with a blue dress shirt. Though I left around 8:15 after realizing it was just a "hey #20 is in MA" tweet...

I think I saw you... I think you were standing next to a guy with a green shirt and shorts?

I (asian) wore a brown striped button down shirt with white pants (work clothes) I was chatting with some other droid hunters next to PLymouth rock at 9:45-10 after wandering around for a while.
