"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

Once again conflicts with: Droid X designate #20 is in a city where everybody knows its name. Or they will in 2 days.

Make up your mind tweeter!

Cheers was set in Boston (and they have a place you can tour)...which explains the Everybody knows your name clue...as well as the Beer portion of Tea or Beer.

narrowing it down to two locations in Boston maybe

I know them, do you???

Edit: I gotta get my self a bike so I can get to either place quickly from middle ground. unfortunately I don't have a smartphone now so mobile GPS tracking is gonna be tough. maybe i'll take my laptop to a starbucks in the area or something.

That's my plan for the Dallas one, take my netbook to a starbucks downtown and wait until the more specific clue.

Doesn't Sam Adams brew most of their beer in Cincinnati, OH?

Not sure if "most" is correct, but certainly a sizable portion of it is produced in Cincinnati. Although, based on the other clues, I don't think this is a reasonable location to expect. (Although I would love it.)

yes but there original brewery and where they make all new beers is in jamaica plains, ma, which isn't exactly boston...i was just there and i actually have on the shirt i got from the brewery today. ha

The ironic thing is those that already have a smartphone are at a major advantage to those of us that don't.

Not exactly...I have a 2 and a half year old T-Mobile Sidekick. It's pre-3g, doesn't have flash. I need to restart it every 24 hours or it freezes up...But, it can still get txt messages. And I've gotten every tweet from DroidLanding within 30 seconds of it getting posted. ^_~

The advantage comes from my car gps, and my handheld gps that is meant for hiking, so it can do coordinates accurately to 15 feet. ^_~ That's good enough for me. Oh, and I like the bike idea, so if it's in Key west...I'll be attaching my bike and bike rack to my car. I can bike a lot faster than I can run...thanks to years of football and getting hit by a taxi on my motorcycle when I was living in Taiwan. ^_~

As would since I'm decently close I but that was more of a question(I really wasn't sure but thought I had been told that) to help get the wheels turning on where the Boston X is to help those hunters.

Fun fact: After touring the Sam Adam's brewery in Boston head over to Doyle's Cafe with your ticket and you get to keep the "perfect pint" glass that your first beer is served in.

@kapra, the brick red is delicious...when i was on the tour a few weeks ago i lobbied REALLY hard to get them to send a couple kegs to buffalo, but they laughed and said no...and yes its only on draught in boston

Yeah, but residents of Hawaii are not eligible in this contest. "Only residents of the 48 Contiguous states may participate." That's directly from the contest rules. So, it's not in Hawaii.

But, if it is as far south as Key West, the asses better give some #6 clues soon. No one lives in Key West who'd give a crap about this, so they'd have to give us time to get there. It's a 6+hour drive for me...and yes, with a specific enough clue...I WILL drive that far. lol ^_~

Provided they give us a day or two's notice...LIKE THEY'RE GIVING AWAY FOR EVERY OTHER PHONE!!!!!!!!!11111111333333333seven :mad::mad::mad::mad:

Quit whining. Your state at least has a phone :p

umm...did they just put #19 on the clock with the 30 min clue???

I'm feeling yes.

The first modern traffic light was invented here. In 3 days, Droid X designate #17, the latest in smart phones will be here.

Detroit Michigan

Which city? Salt Lake, Detroit or Cleveland? Cleveland already has designate #12 so one of the other two, I think. From Wiki:

The modern electric traffic light is an American invention.[3] As early as 1912 in Salt Lake City, Utah, policeman Lester Wire invented the first red-green electric traffic lights. On 5 August 1914, the American Traffic Signal Company installed a traffic signal system on the corner of East 105th Street and Euclid Avenue in Cleveland, Ohio.[4][5] It had two colors, red and green, and a buzzer, based on the design of James Hoge, to provide a warning for color changes. The design by James Hoge[6] allowed police and fire stations to control the signals in case of emergency. The first four-way, three-color traffic light was created by police officer William Potts in Detroit, Michigan in 1920.[7]

Yeah the reason why is because money from each keg sold goes into some fund that helps provide low interest loans to entrepreneurs in the Boston area. They don't sell it outside Boston because they don't have a way to make the fund a "large scale" thing at this point in time.

I spend too much time at that brewery...

Wow, it seems that somehow #12, b4 in the buckyeye state changed 2 #17, "The first modern traffic light was invented here. In 3 days, Droid X designate #17, the latest in smart phones will be here" previously sm1 in another forum had posted that the first traffic light with #12?? maybe I am getting confused
