Date you ordered and received the phone vs. "will ship by" date

You guys are going to love this one...

The good news is that the FedEx guy just delivered a package to my house. The wife calls me and tells me that there is only 1 phone in the package (we ordered 2). She calls CSR and they tell her they shipped separately and that we should receive the other one before Tuesday. She inquired about shipping numbers. We did receive an email about shipping, but it only has 1 shipping number. Apparently the number I have is for the phone that did not arrive. According to the shipping info, it is still sitting in the FedEx facility in Memphis (I'm in Knoxville).

2 phones, ordered on the same date, shipped at the same time, and only 1 of them manages to arrive. Needless to say that a CSR and I will be having a nice little chat after I finish lunch...

To everyone waiting. How many apps do you have saved on your appbrain. I already found 64 apps.


I have over 100, seperated into different lists. About 20 of them are on a list called "still deciding". Those are mostly fluff things.

I've also already bought a ton of accessories. Cases, batteries, charger, car mount, TV cable, SD card...

Oh, and I have already picked out 20+ wallpapers.

My fiance thinks I am nuts.

Well, I would check the shipping information, because here's an update...

I called Verizon CSR and got the second tracking number. Apparently one phone was shipped overnight, and the other phone was shipped two-day service. Yeah. Ordered at the same time, on the same receipt, shipped two different ways.

I contacted FedEx to see what the holdup is and got the rudest CSR I have ever spoken to with any company. I am sure they are tired of all the problems Verizon has caused them, but there was no need to be rude about it. I flatly told him that my receipt said both were overnight service. He, interrupting me, told me that was not FedEx's problem and I needed to call Verizon back.

I did and feel like I am getting the runaround. Verizon says they requested overnight on both phones, FedEx says it was only on one phone. The FedEx guy was very condescending, telling me how shipping works. I got his name and will be talking to his supervisor a little later. The Verizon CSR was very understanding, offered me the $25 credit for the trouble, and said that if I paid for overnight shipping that I can get that credited back in store. He said he couldn't see it there but I would have to check my receipt.

Bottom line, 2 phones ordered same time, on same receipt, with overnight shipping. 1 phone arrived today. The other is still sitting at the FedEx facility with expected delivery of Monday (when no one will be home to sign for it). I'm looking at Tuesday at the earliest. All for a $25 credit.

We need to have some "and all I got was this lousy t-shirt (and an Incredible phone)" t-shirts made.

That sucks! There's really no way to know who screwed up, Verizon or Fed Ex. I am inclined to think Verizon though. They are the ones that set up the delivery type and print the lables. Fed Ex just does whatever the shipping lable said to do.

So chances are, somehow Verizon seperated the order into two shipments and sent one of them wrong. Can't say I am surprised :(

I ordered in store and the receipt says "2 Day Fed Ex". I didn't even think to ask them for Overnight Service. I am not going to complain though, thanks to the store I got an extra $50 off. When we went to the store the guy said that if we order online both lines were eligable for an extra $50 off, totaling $100. When we got home and it didn't work, we called back and explained. The store manager called back within 10 minutes and said that the CSR was mistaken and only 1 line was eligable for that discount but due to the trouble he would push it through for us on both lines.

He did everything and we just had to go back the next day to pick up the receipts. Overall I give them an A+. Most companies would have just said "oops, we told you the wrong thing. Too bad, so sad".
 
Seems like a lot of mid-June orders are going through! We need to start moving into the upper teens-lower twenties. I ordered 6/26, expected 7/23, but I feel like I may get it early!
 
I can't believe what this phone is making me do. I headed out of my office a while ago to grab some lunch. On the way I spotted a FedEx truck. What did I do? You bet, I followed it to see if was heading to my office. I am the only one in the office today and didn't want him to leave when he found the office locked. When he stopped somewhere else, I followed. I asked him if he had a delivery for me, but there was no Inc. for me today.

I feel real stupid stalking FedEx trucks......
 
Ordered 6/14 got my shipping info today. Says it will be delivered next Tuesday the 13th. So either it isn't going on the truck till tonight or they don't deliver here on Monday. I can't tell yet where it is shipping from. I would guess Memphis as everything that comes Fed Ex here comes from Memphis. Just a note t all waiting. If you get your tracking number it don't mean it is on a truck heading to you. That just means the manufacturer has contacted Fed Ex to come pick up an order. So in essence my 2 day shipping is going to turn into 5 day shipping with the weekend in there. But, it's coming so the wait is about over. Plus I am off Tuesday so I will be home to sign it although it says indirect signature required and I know the driver real well.

I remember once riding down I66 with my dad. A Good Humor Icecream truck drove past us. I said something like "man, I could go for a fudge bar right now". My dad agreed. Next thing I know he is pulling up next to the truck and waving it over!!

Yep, he pulled the guy over right there on the interstate and got us some icecream! The guy said he only stopped because he thought maybe something was wrong. But he was so assumed he left him buy some anyway.

Actually, that is correct. Sat/Sun doesn't count. So the phone is being picked up today and will be delivered Tuesday. That's 2 business days.

That is why I am keeping my fingers crossed that mine ships two days early, on 7/14 (my estimated ship is the 16th). That way it will be here on Friday.

I don't know that the "you have a device pending activation" is an accurate test. My Incredible is on a truck, out for delivery TODAY and I don't get the "you have a device pending activation" when I call in to *611. I tried drilling all the way into the "activate a device" menu but it never gave me any indication that anything is pending.
 
Sure enough, the CSR I talked to earlier this week didn't know squat when she told me my order had been pushed back to 7/30. I got my shipping notification this morning. The bummer is that even though it was shipped overnight, being a Friday I won't see it until Monday. :-(
