do you still get HORRIBLE keyboard lag

I havent been on the forums in a while but i am just wondering if anyone else gets HORRIBLE keyboard lag. It is the main reason why i hate this phone with a passion. I am able to type very fast but this stupid phone is forcing me to type slow as $#@% because if i go too fast it doesnt register the right key or it thinks im long pressing a key. Does anyone else have this or has there been a secret fix that i dont know about?
 
Download an alternate keyboard, like the droid x one from xda, they fixed some things on it.

It works faster for me I only get lag in google voice texting now.

I technically don't, but that might be because I type too slow anyway. According to an app on my phone, I can only type at about 25 wpm.
 
It used to lag, especially when text messaging. But after I cleaned out the tons of messages that were saved in the SMS app, the lag vanished.

Then I got Swype and it didn't matter.
 
i signed up for the swype beta a few weeks ago but i never got a response.

I disabled heptic feedback and that seems to help a little thanks!

Thats weird. They usually email you back within 15 seconds. Have you confirmed that your email was correct?
 
Actually, ever since I installed the Droid X keyboard on my Eris, I haven't had virtually any lag at all. And thats with haptic feedback turned on.
 
mine lags like all hell. i use better keyboard now, but it even lagged horribly with swype and the droid x. i clear out my messages, tried haptic off, nothing helps. even haptic feedback off is still just as laggy. im learning to live with this stupid thing but its very annoying
 
mine does not lag anymore since I got droid x keyboard. now my phone works how it should have out of box. no root required.
 
I am starting to use a keyboard called Swiftkey, its avail in the market in beta form...so far I like it.

Ill check out the X keyboard.

How do I install this exactly, I tried to "use" it through input method, but it didnt show up.
