"Missing Droid X Real-World Give-Away" Contest (1st Post:Updated)

What is everybody planning on doing with the coordinates to find the location?

Do we know when the Droids are being put out vs the time the tweets are sent out?

I have been following this contest/ thread for the past couple days and was woken this morning by a text update saying they will be one in Houston so I am very excited (even though I just made my appointment to pick up my droid at my VZM store at 9am on thursday).
 
@duke, they place the certificate when the tweet the final clue, not when the tweet the coordinates, that was cleared up by droiddecoder yesterday

oh and if you put the coordinates in google maps they point directly to the building or site where the certificate is hiding
 
For #5 in Dallas, one thought I had last night was maybe they could put it at the Pioneer Plaza where the cattle drive sculptures? I dunno, just throwing ideas out there.
 
So they did change the game yesterday to more of a flat out race. No more pinpoint clues, just a general idea of the part of the city, then 30 min later...the co-ords. Must of decided the peeps were finding them way too quickly?
 
Hate to be the bearer of bad news for today's hunters, but after watching the video for #3 in SF, I have to confirm the places are RANDOM AS HELL!!! This was INSIDE THE theater, no food/coffee/ice cream places involved. It was in the Mission District, which had NOTHING to do with any of the clues given out for it...not even close. Once you have a city, it could be anywhere. If you guess right, awesome! I pray someone here gets one. The guy that found #3 was sick, just had surgery, but the lucky bastard LIVED 3 BLOCKS AWAY. So is that 30min warning the "final clue"? Since they just give the 30min warning and then post the coords now?
 
@tabe, i would assume yes, that way they dont give away location and have someone there while they are placing it!
 
yeah at this point its tricky for me in buffalo, where i work i'm pretty centrally located and i have my computers here with easy access, if i leave, i'm relying on getting the tweets on my phone until i grab my g/f who has her 3g netbook with her at work...we are both done at 3...
at this point i'm not even going to lunch cause i don't want to miss the first tweet

if i leave, our plan is to sit in a downtown bar waiting for the tweet!
 
In downtown Orlando I would guess it's going to be somewhere near the Amway arena or the New Amway they're building. The Orlando Magic do a lot of "first person to get here" contests in that area..

i get droidlanding and droiddecoder texted to me and with this last tweet for orlando, I didn't get 1 from droiddecoder, it scares me that i might not get the droidlanding 1! ugh f5 f5 f5 f5 f5 f5 lol
 
I was so bummed about the Hollywood phone. I was there yesterday at like 8:30 I drove all around till like 12:30 when i got a phone call saying the guy was at my dad's to install the shower door cause we just remodeled his bathroom the only one they have and the guy needed help. So since my dad needs his shower I had to go help upset knowing they were going to give the clue as soon as I left and sure enough they did I couldn't even make it back in time to see the phone. I was just going to check out a friend of mines salon right before I got the call that is right around the corner from pinks. I drove by pinks 3 times yesterday. I know I wasn't gauranteed to win but I totally felt like I was going to. I think they should have released a couple of clues and givin it a couple hours untill the released gps. the way they are doing it just gives a person that happens to be there the chance to get it unlike me and other people that have been at it since the begining. I went all over the place asking about this thing before the announced the rules. I don't like how the company doing this handled it but oh well I will still get the phone when it comes out and stay a verizon customer.
 
i've actually noticed that i'm getting the droidlanding tweets almost as fast on my phone today as on the computer, but i really don't want to take a chance of missing...

potter, where are you? (what city?)
 
Decoder has been pretty quiet today. They were doing pretty good, being just ahead of everything up until yesterday. I wonder if they got frozen out...
