yes, you can pay for the full 2 years up front. I just checked today, its like $240 or something like that

Pretty good, though a truck just came in tonight, but we got some EVOs on launch day too.

You can pay a one time service plan charge for the 2 years. It actually comes out to be cheaper per month too :)

hmm, good question. I know you can disable the mobile network, but the phone radio only can be turned off through Airplane mode, which turns off wifi too.

This question I do not know the answer to.
 
So, an update for all you guys.

We didn't get any accessories in. I don't know if this is a per store basis but it really sucks.

Our district got a very low amount of phones. Though, to be fair, we have enough preorders to cover our first wave.

I actually went in to do the calls and they had been done already. There were some people who were not too happy, but believe me, I am not happy either. I wanted to get every single person who wanted one a phone, but it looks like we were not allocated enough.

I wish I had better news guys :(

Well, I have one good thing to say, we got a crazy awesome poster that said "Droid X is here" , and it's freaking amazing. I want it!

So, you couldn't give every pre a phone? Uh oh. I live in raleigh NC, I'm hoping its a bigger district!!!

Correct, some will have to wait till the weekend. Some stores phones are still in transit, as in they won't get them until tomorrow.

It's a tough launch, but at least we have EVOs in! .../cue youtube video

Evos? I don't care (ha, the tables, how they have turned). well, i hope i can get mine relatively soon, i was the 14th pre and i will be there an hour early, just because that was convenient anyway, so wish me luck!!

also would you recomend the full body invisishield or just the screen.

i bought the leather kickstand case for my phone but i dont know if ill use it all the time yet or not

Edit: I ordered it online. I know I sound like a loser, but the uncertainty of POSSIBLY getting it was killing me, plus I saved $33, so I think I win.
 
I have my appointment at 12:00pm today and I'm pretty excited. I have one question though. I have about $200 in BB gift cards... unfortunately they're with my gf in another state until Friday since she is traveling for business. She also happens to have my preorder receipt. Will I still be able to pick up the phone by showing my ID or something? I put down my name and address when I preordered. I also wondered if there is any way I can get the gift cards applied today. I am trying to have her send me scans or images of the back of the gift cards. What would you recommend to a customer in this situation? The main reason I'm picking up the phone today, rather than Friday when my gf returns, is because the BB mobile rep told me that I have the pick up the phone within 24 hours or else they give my phone to the next person in line.

You can show them your ID to pick up the phone, unfortunatly there is not a way for us to apply those gift cards without them physically being there. What you can do though, is come back later, essentially return it and pay for it with your gift cards when they are there. Just say you want to switch the payment from the one you do today, to the gift cards :)

I can confirm that it can be done, but each Mobile Manager is different, not every Best Buy will do it. It's a store by store basis, as we don't actually do them.
