Help Unable to send message

I am using HTC G1 with android 1.5 cupcake. It is an unlocked phone. My G1 have a strange problem. Sometimes it sends sms (using mobile network) but sometimes it don't. I don't know what is the problem. Help will be appreciated.
I tried following but couldn't solve it:
Restart the phone,
disconnect/connect the battery and the restart the phone,
deleted all the threads,
tried to send sms with and without + and country code,

I am a dead man with a G1 because I can't send sms, somebody please help me.

Hint: I've heard that Android 1.5 have weak management policy for messaging and It is solved in some extra patch, if somebody know that name.

If you are using some third party SMS app uninstall it ..

Try the stock ... if Ok
then try the app "SMS PopUp"

Also go to the Tmobile G1 Support site and search for the update to 1.6
