Help Dead Pixel

OK heres the deal, I order one online didn't get a tracking number until 5 mins ago 10:40PM CST. In the mean time I had an X held at a store as a backup, so I went buy and picked it up. They had to create a new account for the X because they couldn't find the other one. I got it home and noticed when watching a youtube video or even on the menu screen I noticed a red deal pixel. So now that I have my tracking number and my other account, should I just return the phone to the store and tell them the story or ??? I don't need two phones and I don't want the one that has the dead pixel.

If it was red, then it wasn't a dead pixel. It was just stuck. That can usually be fixed with a reboot, viewing things with lots of colors, lightly rubbing the screen, or just waiting.

Stuck pixels usually fix themselves, but I can understand being frustrated with having one on a new phone.

While this is generally true it is not always the case. I've got a TV that's a bit over 2 years old that still has a stuck pixel lol. I'm not sure if there is something similar for our phones but on my computer I have a program called Dead Pixel Buddy. It will cycle through red/green/blue as well as show all white and all black screens to check for dead/stuck pixels and attempt to fix them. Perhaps there is something similar in the market place.

I could just return the one that i got online and exchange out this one once the store gets more in that way i wont get charge a restocking fee and a activation fee.

I really can't see it unless I am on the black background or watching a video. I might just want for the store to get more and exchange it.

Honestly, if the stuck pixel does not unstick itself it would drive me nuts. I would just have tech support document it and when the new stock of X's come in that are not spoken for (maybe in a couple of weeks) have them swap it for a new one.

Had a green pixel stuck as soon as i turned it on today. Ran a pixel fixer but then it turned black. Verizon sending me a new phone next week. Still beats the crap outta my iphone 3g

you can massage stuck pixels out on tv's and monitors. can't do it on phones because of the protective glass/plastic.

got 1 dead pixel. i can live w/ it. now the question is.. should i switch my droid w/ my brother that is not home... or just live w/ my random selection?
i think ill feel bad if i put this droid in his box hahahaha.

it looks green kinda annoying now that i think about it

I am surprised that Verizon doesn't have a dead pixel policy like HP or most major computer manufacturers on their laptops. You have to count the pixels and at least when i was doing HP tech support had to be 20+ around the screen or 3+ side by side.

I have a dead pixel and I just got my phone yesterday. Do I just call customer service and ask for them to send me a new one? What charges are involved? I tried using a pixel fixer but no dice :(

Yes. They will ship you a new phone then you send yours back. It should be free. Definitely no restocking fee or anything.
