I don't think it will get delivered today, which is a shame since its so close and yet it won't get delivered till monday. I'm not sure about pick up, but I heard it was possible. You should call them to find out. I'm curious to find out as well, but I don't know who to call yet since its still pretty far away.
Okay, I'll try...

Btw if you call the fedex number and ask them to call the local depot sometimes they will hold the package there for pickup.....thats what i did...beats waiting around all day...just got get the sucker!!!!!
If they give you any smack about verizon not letting them...ask for a supervisor then if they give you hell ask that they call the local....usually works

So i called FedEx. He said that it's at like a warehouse in Greensboro right now and it's being held there, so i can't go pick it up. They do deliver on saturdays, but only if you selected that option. He did try to see if i could pick it up, but apparently Verizon doesn't allow you to pick it up unless they've attempted deliver once already. He said that it's coming on Monday. So, that was worth a shot. :o

MONDAY!!

Did you just call the general fedex number? I'm going to give it a try...

IT'S HERE!!!!! FINALLY!!! lmao, didn't think I'd get it today but it's here!!! wow the box is much smaller than I thought it would be.

After getting jerked around for three days by these bozo's i have dumped verizon and moved to sprint on the evo. I will thoroughly test the evo on my 30 day trial and hope for the best. The cost savings with sprint will be almost $70 per month which is a good salve for any reception issues if they are minor. Shame on you verizon for lying to a 20 year customer who controls over 30 data lines with you. They could not deliver an incredible or an x, even after promising they would. Verizons response " i am sorry sir but there is nothing we can do". Really? Nothing? Okay well there is something i can do. Don't lie to me, admit to it, then say there is "nothing" you can do. I considered verizon the best wireless provider hands down. Now they are just part of the group of monolithic corporate monsters who have lost touch with their customers. If you screw your customer offer to do something to make it right. I lost ten hours of my personal time with these ingrates and got nothing in return except "i am sorry sir but there is nothing i can do". There was plenty they could have done, at least be honest and say "i am sorry sir, but there is nothing i am going to do for you"

Given the opportunity, I am sure Sprint will do the same. I am pretty annoyed at Verizon. Which boob thought it was a good idea to move all the folks who ordered early and whose orders got stuck to the back of the line. IF I don't get mine by the 23rd I am going to Sprint as well.

Oh okay...Well i didn't try that. Did you do that? With the X?
When i called i was like "It says online that it's already in Greensboro but won't be delivered til Monday so can i like go pick it up?" He asked for my tracking number and he said he was looking at that place to see if i could pick it up to see if there was a "button" or something to do it, but then he said that i couldn't because it was at like a warehouse and that it was being held there..And do they have like hours? can i go pick it up tomorrow even if it's saturday?

I just called and the guy told me the address of where it will be tomorrow. I may be able to go get it (saturday), but I have to call the final destination when its there.

Okay, what'd you say when you called? And what exactly did he say?

I said I had a package that I need earlier than the expected delivery date (monday), and I was wondering if there was any way I could pick it up early.
Part of my problem was that I had no idea where it was supposed to go next. It is stuck in Oakland overnight, which is far from where I live.
He said it will arrive in Sacramento tomorrow, and he gave me the exact address of the office and a phone #. So now I have to call the actual office and convince them to hold it for me for pickup tomorrow, which is goning to be difficult. Sacramento is still about 25 miles from me, so if they give me a hard time on the phone then I wont bother.

Alright, maybe i'll try that...Tell me how that call goes. :)

Sure, although I probably wont call until it actually arrives there tomorrow morning.
Alright. Well i called FedEx again and she said that it's in a container with thousands of other packages right now, and that it is in G'boro but not at the "Destination Station" yet, and that they can't get in that container until Monday....Ugh, so much for that. :(

When you find out the destination station (if it happens on saturday), you should call them. good luck!

I just got an email confirming delivery on Monday. I just called them to see if they were screwing with me, nope, its coming. Now what? Do I forgive and forget, or return it. Since I now own an Evo, maybe it is time for a heads up comparison. The Sprint dropped a call on the way home, maybe a fluke. Send on of them back after 30 days. It still does not change how I was treated, or does it?

Just got my shipping notification as well. Shipped today overnight so delivery on Mon. I think I'm gonna keep my Inc after being unimpressed with the display model this afternoon. Will VZW charge me the restocking fee regardless if I open the package or not?

Sorry but, why exactly were you mad at verizon? Was it because they messed up your order, or didn't give you a tracking number? I'm just asking because I didn't see a post explaining what happened. I looked back a page or so but maybe I missed it. :o

If they did in fact confirm shipment on Monday, then I would give them another chance. It was probably a crazy few days for them trying to process all the orders. Basically an unusual circumstance. If you've had decent service for those 20 years, then I would stay. I don't know what your opinion is after all these years, but being a customer for that long can have its perks.

Ordered online yesterday/Thursday at 9:30a. Shipped notice received around 8-ish pm. Arrived today (Raleigh area, NC) from Memphis at 10:30a.

Subtotal, ignoring taxes, = $219.97, covering multimedia cradle/HDMI cable + DX. All arrived in the one package (about 3 lbs). Free overnight shipping. Billed to my account. Joined Verizon for Droid Dec 1, 2009. Family plan/1400 minutes. Droid X = line #4.

No clue why folks who ordered hours before me are still left waiting. While I'm delighted to have mine, the whole thing is brutally unfair to the early birds. I feel your pain, as I've been in your shoes with other carriers/phones. Just lucked up this go round. Now off to figure out how to alpha sort the dang app drawer.

When my son and I saw the box we thought it was too small for such a "large" phone. It even looked like the phone was bigger then the box. But that couldn't be unless it was some sort of magic box.... or perhaps... a magic phone. Yeah - magic phone - that might be it.:D

Dont ask me how or why, I ordered my on the 15th at 4:30PM. Was told I would get shipping info today. Then I got a call saying that it would not ship out until the 23rd. Got home, checked email, I got shipment notification, was shipped and I should get it Monday as promised. I cannot believe it. Kinda off topic but talking about how cell companies suck. My Dad is in Canada right now traveling, he has an AT&T air card, they turned it off after two days saying they had excessive international usage. They call AT&T, they are saying they own AT&T $8000!!!! Holy Crap!

If it were me I would keep the X and stay with Verizon.I would not drop a company that I have had good service with for 20 years over one screw up.What happens when Sprint screws up.Believe me they will screw up to at one time or another.
