I have the new Droix X Dock. It's a tight fit! I think the dock with it's protruding plugs has some problems in mating with the phone and eventually you'll end up with either the dock or phone broken,,, or both!
Thoughts and comments?
How does the docking station affect battery life? I've been told not to leave the phone charging overnight.

Um, a docking station has nothing to do with battery life
You'll get a possible "trickle charge" if you leave it. I have left all my phones, over the many years, plugged in overnight.
Where did you hear this don't leave on the charger myth?
It'll loosen up a bit after some docking and undocking action.
thats what she said.
but i agree, at first it was a tight fit... now i can almost put it in with one hand, i keep hitting the camera button though.
I returned mine yesterday for that exact same reason. Didn't want to fight mounting it. Downloaded the DockRunner app from the market and it does the EXACT same thing, and it's FREE!I have the new Droix X Dock. It's a tight fit! Give it a little up and down action. It gets loose. They always do.
Have you tried a screen brightness app from the market? You can set it down to the level of dimming you like on the main home screen and then it will be the same on the dock screen when you switch it.Is anyone having the same issues as with the original Droid? That being that when you use the dock as a bedside clock, it does not dim and will just be a beacon of brightness while trying to sleep? That was the biggest gripe with the old dock. It should dim and preform more like a clock with just the time being lit.
