Accessories REVIEW: Seidio 3500 (Pictures)

I've gotta agree with you on this one.

All I know is I've used a lot of dirrent batteries in my Eris and Incredible

VZW 2150

Soon I'll have a 2600 and debating on getting the 3500 Seidio Amazon has them for $49.99 .

I know forsure that my 1750 got slightly better battery life then my TP2 , not much but definetly better and for $24 worth it over the $16 I spent on my TP2 . The Fakes were awful most likely 1000mah batteries, the VZW is a fantastic battery. Cant wait to try out the 2600 and 3500 batteries as well as they have been raved about by others

actually i'm planning on ordering another 2600 for the extra battery and i need a new external charger so I was going to get the package deal. I'd be willing to buy it and send you a 2600 battery for testing.

The reason I didn't buy the package deal first was because he didn't offer one with the speaker hole back. So i'll just be getting the solid one now with external charger

on your heavy cycle, how could you listen to sirius for longer than the total awake time? 0.o

Good catch. I saw my notes and I believe it was actually 7:11 (7 hrs, 11 minutes) and I just pasted it wrong in the post.

I forget if the phone stays "awake" while Sirius is playing: I'm pretty sure it does. I say this because the Sirius will buffer. The stream isn't played "live," per say, but I don't know how much of the stream is buffered. Couldn't be more than a few minutes.
 
I would assume anything that anything that can play music would keep the phone awake, but i know very little about android OS.

Depends on how they decide what equals awake right ? If they decide that screen ON and gui is being used awake, then maybe playing music and streaming stuff is NOT awake --- Still messy

This battery definitely lasts a full day. And I did "bump" charge.

Just out of my own curiosity, could you see how long the bump charges take and how many you can do until the phone decides that the battery is charged right away when plugging in?

Just wanted to compare that data against my own 2150mAh where the first bump is 30 or so minutes and the second is almost 20 - but the third is really short...
 
Sounds like this battery really is 3500mah , your numbers are well more then twice what I'm getting with the 1750 actually close to 3x better

And looks like almost twice as good as the numbers I was getting with my 2150. Sounds like this battery is a winner for $49.99 (amazon)
 
Your 1750 is a 1500, so it's more like it's a 3000. Still not bad. But at 50 bucks I'll pass. Maybe when china starts shipping them out for 15 bucks I'll grab one.

Well most of the test say the 1750 is more along the lines of 1600 but either way the numbers he is posting are almost double what I was gettign with the 2150 that I spent $40 on , for $10 the Seidio is a winner forsure.
 
I got the 3500 in yesterday. Charged it all night, then bump charged it twice before turning it on this morning. Now, just after lunch at 1:53 p.m. with the phone all all morning and either data or wifi turned on to receive emails, surf web I'm down to 91% charge on the battery.

Nice!!! my stock battery would be down to about 75% by now and I'd plug it into my computer here at work to charge it up again.

Yes, I will try to remember to do that. I was curious about it myself.

Just make sure the battery is "topped off" and you'll be surprised how long it lasts. Pretty sure the bump charging is either due to software or the charging mechanism.

Again, I'm getting awake times of 14-16 hours with a typical awake/up ratio of 0.60
 
I cut out a hard silicone case (from Fommy, I believe) to allow the hump through. The case acts like a frame. I'll try to take a picture for you guys. I love how it feels, even more than when it was just the back with no case.

Now, I just need a leather horizontal holster to accommodate this beast...

I charged the battery - using the OEM charger and phone ON - until the light turned green, then I took the battery out (I put in the OEM 1500 in the mean time) and put the 3500 in an EXTERNAL charger until the light turned green.

I estimate it took about 45-50 minutes for the external charger light to go from red/orange to green.

Does that help?

Just wondering how long its taking the phone to top off (bump charge) the battery and how many bump charges are needed.

I know that's what you were looking for. I still haven't found the time to do that (since it's usually charging overnight and, as soon as I wake up, I have to take off for work/class. I will do that and post results.

OEM charger = stock charger
external charger = $15 charger from Fommy:

I sometimes put a battery in this charger because I reason that the charging mechanism on the Incredible is flawed for showing a green light when it's not fully charged. I would think the external chargers will show a green light when the battery is "topped off." I could be wrong.

I'll do the steps you listed (that's how I normally do it, anyway) and report back.

I only have experience with the SEIDIO MultiFunction charger - I know that charger, after 12 hours of "charging" with the green light on - still takes another 20-30 mins in the phone for the bump charge.

I've done it a bunch of ways. I really don't like leaving the phone off but I've done it. Depending on whether or not I have the OEM red battery in or the 1500 from bidallies the bump charge takes about 15 minutes for the red and 25 minutes for the 1500. I've not seen another bump do anything but for perhaps a couple of seconds. Normally what I do is pull the battery and put it in an external cheepo charger. I think it cost me $5 at the most. After that charges the battery there is nothing more I can do to charge it. I can pull it, leave it in the drawer for a few days, put it in the phone and charge it, and nothing will make it turn away from green.

Is that using your Inc, or a prepaid phone? Joke being, what is the point if not using much- usage above shows less than 5% usage time when active? ;)

I prefer the use the heck out it approach- wifi on, gps on, play same set of mp3's and play same videos (Southpark) & browse same Flash sites until it chokes. That would then give a more practical usage scenario :)

Anyone test that way? All I know is the 1300 stock appears to be junk, since I get "about" 40% better use from the Seidio. The reason I think the stock is junk:

1300 & 1750 are about same size, so no way 1750 is actually 34% better if both same cell quality. I am guessing the stock battery is junk and that is why the 1750 seems so much better.

3500 is a mighty chunga battery :) I may order one still.

I didn't intend to barely use the phone. I am just posting my normal usage habits.

On that day, I just happened to not use the phone much. I'm not planning a certain pattern of usage now, just posting numbers.
