Droid Eris Dead?

Note to Kenneth: We're just ribbin' ya.. no disrespect at all intended..

..and welcome to the forums, belated as it is seeing as how you joined in April. ;)
 
I don't need 2.2 Eris is going to be my buddy for thr next 2 years. 2.1 is all I need.
I think it's crazy how new phones are coming out every month yeah they might be faster and have 4G but everybody just is gonna jump on the newest think because it's new. What til next year! Haha

Was in store today and heard a rep tell a customer that he could get her a new Eris but would have to ship it to her since they were not selling them in the store any more. She asked why and he said it was discontinued and replaced with the Incredible.

*claps* I knew it! They replaced us! What was once the second best Android phone the on market (only beaten by the Moto Droid(second because of it's $100 price(And since it's on the Verizon network))), we were replaced. Now, I'm not saying the Incredible is a bad phone, but it's simply too expensive. The only real reason I didn't get a moto droid is because I couldn't afford $200. The Eris brought me into the Google and Android market. It's because of the Eris that I am what I am today. And I'm saddened by what happened to it.

I got my Eris in April and I am on my 3rd one! They have all given me problems!
From not ringing to switching from screens on it's on to flickering on n off, to not receiving or sending SMS or MMS mesgs.....
But my question is what have you all done to keep ur phone working soo well?

If your phone was giving you that many problems, you should have just taken it in for a different one!

My Eris has always been well behaved. However, I've rooted it and flash the White Widow 4.6 ROM onto it, and it runs so much nicer. You lose Sense, but you gain App2SD (150+ MB of internal memory, by storing apps to your SD card), a faster running phone, and a bunch of root only apps, like Wifi tethering.
 
Rooting has the added benefit of allowing you to flash a 2.2 ROM to gain any benefits there. I see my ERIS making me happy until my contract is up.
 
All I want is 2.1 on my Eris LOL! Called HTC again today. Told me he was going to put me on the list to get 2.1 pushed out to me & that it would take a week to 10 days....ughhhh if I had a nickel for every time they told me that..well I'd have 20 cents LOL!

Just flash the RUU. You'll get it a lot faster. Just make sure to back everything up since it will wipe your phone. Its probably for the better, since some people report their Eris's behaving erratically if they don't wipe it after updating to 2.1.
 
NAh, I don't want to do that, my phone is running perfect and I don't want to mess it up..I just want Google navigator, but I can wait LOL
