Other than darch being 2.1 and Froyo being 2.2 are there any other signifigant differences between the two? Speed, lwp, dialer speed, 3d gallery, things of that sort!

sorry i was confused with another rom...exclude my comment. i haven't tried darch. :)

In my opinion, they are about identical but Darch is a little quicker and more polished. I'm excited for a little bit better version of Cm6 to be released.

Newb question here - are these 2 roms comparable to fresh 2.3.3? If so, which is better and why? If not, why not? Thanks for the help - I'm a little new here...

Neither is at all like Fresh, these two don't have sense ui at all and therefore you can enable jit which is a huge improvement in speed.

neither have senseUI which allows JIT.. Froyo is android 2.2 and seems to run very smooth. it's still a beta ROM and not everything works 100% yet. for me battery life on Fresh 2.3.3 is MUCH better (28hrs on average with Fresh) on Froyo I got 7 hours before running a battery tweak. that did improve my battery life.

I haven't used darch 2.7 (have it downloaded just not flashed yet) but reports I've seen are favorable.

bottom line.. Froyo isn't 100% but worth playing with.. and if you really have to have SenseUI (and the widgets that go with it), then don't bother flashing either darch or froyo

And that sounds fairly dramatic, but really, when I went to Darch, I didn't even realize it was "Sense-less" until I read about it after Flashing. You really wouldn't notice any difference - except speed. I've got widgets-a-plenty on my screens.

I think Mystic meant specifically, the HTC widgets lol. I didn't realize how badly I missed them until I finally ditched Darchdroid to try out the new fresh, which is awesome btw.

Yeah, I love sense. The HTC widgets are the best ones going.

I've been running Fresh for a while, and I finally flashed Darchdroid tonight. I am really impressed with how responsive it is. Now I'm trying to pick between the two for my everyday ROM.

darch 2.7 is a must have.

fresh is great..but darch gives you so much more speed.

don't believe me? flash the rom and run a benchmark on it. you'd be amazed

How does zenexp compare with DD in terms of speed and battery life?

There are reports that flashing DD takes away root. How can I avoid this?

My last ROM was Zen. In terms of speed, Darch is much quicker in terms of Linpack benchmarks. You can see the speed difference. As far as battery life goes, both ROMs seemed the same to me.

You can avoid having root taken away by backing up everything and then completely wiping everything and following the directions on the first page of XDA.

Flashing Darchdroid did not jack up my root, flashing back to it via nandroid did. I just reflashed the rom from there and was good to go.

Flashing Xda didn't mess up peoples root, it was using a nandroid to restore back to Dd that made people lose root.
