Adding a Second Mobile # to a Contact(EVO 4G)

does anyone know how to add a 2nd mobile # under a contact that has a mobile # saved .. i know a few people with 2 cell phone and would like to save both number under mobile 1 and mobile 2 or something of that nature ??

Edit the contact, at the bottom select "Add more information", select "Phone", select "Mobile", enter the number and press save at the bottom.

I've tried that it doesn't give you the option to add another mobile if that contact already has a mobile number saved to it .

Works for me but it doesn't label it as "Mobile 2". Try this though, Add > Phone > Custom. You can name it whatever you want.

what does it label it as ? maybe its just me .. but i dont see a "CUSTOM" label under the phone option either ...

all of my contacts are saved under phone/not as a gmail contact .. i hate the fact that when i choose to sync my google contacts it syncs all these whacky email addresses that i dont care about ..

It seems we are not even in the same ballpark. As we all have options that you don't. You are talking about the people app that comes stock with the evo?

Here's my step by step:
Open people app, tap the person's name you'd like to add a number too, scroll to the bottom if needed to the information window and tap 'edit'. This opens a page with all the contacts data, i.e. phone, email, group, events, notes, etc.
Scroll down if needed and tap 'Add', opens a window that says 'select label' and has options for phone, email, im, postal address, events, and other.
Tap phone to expand and I have options for mobile, home, work, work fax, home fax, pager, other, and custom. (custom is almost cut off maybe scroll down a bit?)
When I add a second mobile number it just adds a second listing labeled 'mobile'. If I choose custom, a text window opens and I can label it anything I want.

yes sir we are talking about the people app .. i did your step by step and this is what i get under the phone label .. home,work,work fax,home fax,pager,car,company main,mms,radio,assistant . Are your contacts under phone or are they google? could this be the difference?

Phone contacts only allow you to add single mobile number, while google contacts can have multiple mobile numbers.

As for those email addresses that gets sync when using google contact, from the people app, you can click on menu to select view option, then uncheck Show auto Gmail contacts. That should exclude all those email addresses that you did not save as contact yourself.
