Accessories Your choice for best Droid X case...and why?

Does anyone know if the body glove case will have the option of adding the kickstand where the belt clip is like several of the other cases they offer on the body glove website? That might make a great combo...

Is there a different body glove case arriving on 7/22 than what's on the vzw website?
 
got the leather case in from verizon today. I was pleasantly surprised to find it all black. All the pictures I've seen show a brown hue to it. the kickstand is awesome. I just hope I can rig up the car dock to keep this thing in its case
 
My Amzer Argyle case and Bodyguardz screen protector were both delivered today. I went with these after looking at other options. I'm still waiting on a holster that I ordered as well so I don't have to keep pocketing my X.

Leather case w/ kickstand will not fit in the car dock...even with removal of the inner piece. :(

I read that review and don't agree with it at all. I have the blue silicon cover on mine and it's quite tight. Fits well and no sides are slipping off unless I make them. I know it's less than a week old, but I can't see it getting stretched out and loose for any reason - unless y'all are way tougher on your phones than I am! Mine rides in my purse most of the time, or on the center console of my truck. I actually like the grippiness of the silicone cover, it keeps it from sliding off said console (slick woodgrain that Ford likes so much).

Good to hear from an actual owner. I referred to mostly the video only. Does your case 'slip' off the sides like they show in the video? I need a silicone case that will not budge whatsoever.

Still looking for the best silicone case out there...

I was confused as first as well because I have the high gloss silicone case for my current DInc (soon to be a DX) and it isn't as described in that review at all. Then I realized I had seen earlier today that VZW now carries two DIFFERENT styles of silicone cases and this review is for the cheaper of the two. Links here:

Ah. I have the high gloss case (guess it doesn't come in black?) so that must be the difference. I thought they were all the same.

Knowquarter, give the high gloss a try, unless you want it in a different color. I can't believe they have such a crappy selection! I'd like to see yellow, green and red more than pink and purple!
 
I do think I am going to cut out the volume and camera button openings. The high gloss case has special little covers for them, but I think they'll be easier to acccess and use without the cover on them. And what's a case without a slight mod, anyway?

Right on. Ok so don't order the Cheaper Silicone Case :P

Not a fan of the high gloss...only color that interests me is Black and I don't like the design, I need to find something similar but in all black. I'm a minimalist when it comes to style.
 
Hey JubbaTheHutt ,

Can you keep us all posted on what you think of your Argyle after a couple weeks or so of use? Reason I ask is, my daughter has a TPU case for her Itouch and just as I had thought it would, the case has scratched the back of the Touch :(. The Argyle case looks great and that is my first choice for the Droid X but the stiffness of the TPU case concerns me that once dirt finds its way in between the case and the phone it will likely scratch the back of the X. Just for the record I have had a silicone case on my old phone for the past two years and not a single scratch. Pulling it in and out of your pocket is a pain, that's why I'm considering the Argyle this time. Thanks in Advance!
 
Has anyone found a holster that will fit over top of a case? I really want a holster, but when its outside of a holster, I want it to have protection too.

I had the eris and had a VZW Gel case on it, and it stayed scratch free...my husband had the eris as well only in a holster and his was all dinged and scratched...I know verizon makes a case that has a back plate and then the whole thing slides into the holster, but I want something that is going to protect the whole phone...

Any suggestions?
 
Ordered the Amzer Smoke Grey Argyle (I've Scottish ancestry, the Argyle attracted me ;), along with a car charger and screen protector. I'll get a car mount at some point, when I find one with decent reviews.

I like this case. It's ~$12 w/ the usual discount. Protects the phone and stays in place just fine. I'll probably have my 2-year upgrade before it wears out. The buttons are covered but easy to use.
 
any recommendations on a belt/clip on style (that leaves the screen exposed). Id like to have something for the gym to clip on the the side of my shorts that's easily able to come free to cycle through the mp3's or pandora.

Thanks for the advice.

I was not impressed by their website, and the $16.95 price tag didn't jibe well for a "Limited Edition" product.

However, I continue to see Amzer products suggested. They certainly can't be that bad, eh?
 
That kickstand case looks almost identical to the one Verizon is offering, and definitely cheaper. Though like the VZW case, I'm sure it will add a bit of girth to the overall phone.

Do you have a link to the VZW version? I checked their website, but I was unable to find any cases for the Droid X.
