Accessories Your choice for best Droid X case...and why?

Same here. That leather case looks great even though it wouldn't be my first choice at all.

My only problem with cases is that they don't fit in the docks at all. :(

I would highly suggest avoiding Fommy at all costs. I had my Argyle preordered with them, found it for cheaper at Amazon, called to cancel and it literally took me over 25 minutes to speak to a customer service rep.

Not only that, but the rep had the nerve to question why I would purchase from another retailers and became a bit angry when I told him I wanted it canceled.

I've heard similar horror stories from this company. Their resellerratings are terrible: Fommymusic / Moftware (formerly: iPod Street) - ipodstreet.com - Reviews, Ratings and Prices at ResellerRatings
 
I ordered the leather case with the kickstand today. I've had my eye on it since the pics leaked. I don't like that its a snap on case though. I hope it provides the protection from falls and drops that I need.

I picked up the verizon leather case..

The magnets are under the soft felt lining, so no issues with the magnets scratching the screen.

Some cases have cut outs in the corners of the case, but that sucks if you drop the case and you put a ding in the corner of your phone.

Plus the clip swivels.

Well so far I bought a purple silicone case when I ordered the Droid X online. I also ordered a couple of the Amzer cases and screen protectors from Fommy.com. What I really want and hoping for is a custom leather case from Fortte. I have one for my BB Storm 2 with a removable clip and really like it. I think I will miss that case more than the Storm 2 when I finally get my Droid X.

I have the leather case with the kickstand and actually bought it the same day as the X in the Verizon store. My experience so far is great. I don't care for silicon covers as they tend to stick to the insides of pants pockets and I don't care for hard clear cases because I just think they make the phone look cheap. This leather cases provides a nice stable grip for your hand but is not too "grippy" for storrage in a pants pocket. Something else to consider is; where do you keep your phone when driving? If you are like me and it gets tossed on the seat beside you, this case wont slide around and gets tossed throughout the car. Just my 2 cents. The kickstand works well but you need to use keys or a coin to get it open the first couple of times or plan on getting a redneck manicure from the case!

It is really not bad at all. I wear normal dress slacks at work and jeans on a normal day and it fits comfortably. If you wear tight pants it is probably a no go. I will probably trade up once some of the 3rd party cases get rolling.
 
Those with Amzer cases, are they smooth or rubbery on the outside? I want a smooth one that won't grab onto the inside of my pocket when I want to pull it out, but not exactly smooth enough where it becomes slippery in the hand.

Don't waste your time with Amzer of Fommy, they have terrible customer service, not to mention they are notorious for delayed shipments.

I ordered mine on Amazon.com (who sells it directly) unfortunately it's out of stock right now.

But if you have Prime, it's only $10 shipped.
