I performed this process and it worked as expected. The phone did need a reboot after installing the Gmail parts but now works the same as my HTC Magic. Thanks again.

I've tried that too and it worked! Nevertheless it keeps crashing when trying to update. Has it happened to someone else? I've rebooted several times and it happens always. GTalk and YouTube work perfectly![]()

I suspect the Market application, if it has been removed from your device, could not easily be re-installed since it would suffer from the same issue that the GMail application has with attachments - the Market relies on the Download Manager to actually download the applications, so without being installed to the system it probably won't be allowed to run properly!
