how to set ringtone thats on my sd card

ok i been to settings and set ringtone but it only shows options for preinstalled rubbish tones . how can i put a song i have as ringtone and message tone

try creating a folder called notifications and one called ringtones on the sd card then add your custom tones in them, they should show up in your list then

Either mount the phone on your windows pc and create folders that way or download linda manager or another file manager from market and use it to create the folders

ok i will do that as i downloaded linda manager and its just a black screen after install

If you go into Music and play the tune you want as ringtone, there is a menu item to save as ringtone. It then goes onto your ringtone list.
