Help Change how the Droid locks.

Hi, new Android user here. I have my Droid set to use a pattern to unlock. This is nice and all, but it's quite annoying to have to re-enter it every time my screen turns off, or whenever I use the hardware lock button on the top. What I'd like it to do is lock after a certain amount of inactivity. Even have the button just turn off the screen, and not lock it.

Is this possible, yet?

Yes. Go into the Market and download Screen Mode Widget. Once downloaded, press on your desktop screen for a second or two and select Widgets. It will be listed there. The "Awake Stay" mode gets rid of the screen lock but allows the screen to go dark.

Awesome. Just what I was looking for.

Anyone know how this might affect bat life? Obviously the screen being on would affect it, but does just staying unlocked affect it?
