c64: I browse the Sprint HTC Hero forums since the Eris and the Hero are basically sibling-phones, and they were talking about screen protectors in a thread over there recently. I bookmarked the brand they were talking about because they are coming out with one for the Eris soon. It's not on eBay (it may be once its released, I dunno)... but the reviews were very positive from the Sprint Hero users.

That protector looks nice. One of the biggest issues with the one I got from Verizon (and subsequently tossed, what a waste) was that the edge just touched the top edge of the screen. This made pulling down the notifications panel VERY, VERY, VERY tough to do smoothly. BIG pain in the rear.
 
i bought the verizon shell and holster combo, the ribbed one, i like it. bought the screen protectors from there too, they SUCK, real bad, i was SOOOO mad. they are IDIOTS! they make the protector then put impossible hard to get off stickers on the front of them, i was real mad when i figured that out.

Thanks! So does it protect the top and bottom edges at all? It appears as though it only wraps around the sides and leaves the top and bottom exposed.

does it come with a different battery cover? or does the original cover fit?
 
Went to Best Buy today, and they had a single glossy, black silicone case for the Eris. I have the name of the brand in my car. Needless to say, it's excellent. Some might not like the glossy, but it fits the Eris like a glove, makes it feel really great in the hand, and offers access to all ports, doesn't get in the way of the ringer buttons (it does cover them, but they're still easy to push), and makes it appear that the Eris is surrounded by hard black plastic. It's way better than I had anticipated. It was $15, btw.
