Help double Txt msg notifications..

After installing the Handcent app, I now get 2 notications for every text messge I receive. One from Handcant, and another from the Droid's default text message app. Is there a way to turn off the defualt text msg app?

Yep, open the stock app, go to settings and then you can turn off notifications there.

Pull up the tab on your homescreen that shows all your apps. Look for the smiling green "chat bubble" icon called messaging. That is the standard app.

Thanks, I knew I was just overlooking it. It was next to my Market icon and the green icons just blended together

The funny thing with handcent now, is I get double text, inside the app (handcent) , but nothing from the stock app. I turned off every option in the stock app. MMS, and SMS are working fine in Handcent.

Only on the receiving end, not sent items.

There is a bug in 2.2.1 sms repeating texts et cetera.
That is the reason for 2.2.2

hey i was wondering if you can help me out
on mytouch 4g ive been getting double notification and im only texting one person
and when she texts back it say i got two text message but like before i unlock the phone i look it says i have two message and when i unlock the phone and open the texts or in the conversation there only one texts but double notification

is there anyway to fixes this?

I dont have the Stock app or the Handcent app yet my i still get a double ring on texts....ive been told that it has something to do with using BOOST mobile service. what can i do?
