To anyone that decides to use sprite, keep in mind that since your going from one rom to another that your settings will not stick. Meaning if you have a ringtone set it will not keep it setup that way. This is because sprite is really for situations where you have to hard reset because of a problem program or personal reasons.
What it is good for in this situation is saving bookmarks, calendar entries, contacts, music, photos, video files, call logs, text messages, mms, and things like that. Just a FYI

i'm debating on doing this now..... or just waiting for HTC
i don't really mind waiting as it seems HTC is saying they are testing OTA fix....
but it might be better to just do the full wipe with this leaked sprint fix and call it a day

Sprint just emailed me back (had a thread going with them for a few days), asking me to try the OTA update on the phone.. can't since I've already updated using the RUU, but maybe someone whos still on .3 can give it a shot and see if it updates now (I'm guessing it won't, but who knows).

My early .3 is working flawlessly after tweaking it of course. The only draw back that I have see so far is that I wont be able to update in the future. But realistically the next big update may be gingerbread and that probably wont be for a good while. So I am confident that HTC would push an OTA way way before anyways to get back on track to .6 So I think that I wont install the RUU and wait this one out. But I may change my mind. Is there any clear cut advantage of fixing it now versus waiting for HTC's fix?
Just my 2 cents, but for the life of me, I can't see one. I'd suggest as follows:
- go snag the exe now and tuck it away
- bookmark the how-to on the installer
That way, if there are any surprises, like some oh-my-gawd ota update that we all really need-me-want-me-gotta-have-me revision/fix that springs up overnight, you'll have the installer in your back pocket that will make it possible.
And then when that doesn't happen and the simple .3 to .6 hits, you just throw away the full RUU - it's just bits.
Everything resets with the RUU updater. Your Talk logged in at startup unless you told it not to, for example, and that's a killer right there.

If you want to hold off on any factory resets, fine, but at least tell me you checked there, did the radio+PRL update and that you've looked over the browser and Et Cetera sections (4 and 5) and checked for settings that applied to you.
If that fails, it's up to you, but my battery got great at .3 with the full procedure, and it's still great with .6 - I repeated the procedure.
But anyway, start small and see if it helps any.

so far so good
phone seems to be going to sleep, charging correctly and so far working right
guess tonight and tomorrow will be the power test to make sure its not eating more power and i got all my seetings right
but for people wondering its really easy to install
have HTC sync on your PC
download RUU file
connect EVO to PC on Charge only settings (while still powered up)
run RUU on your PC and wait
takes about 10 mins to do the whole thing and its pretty painless and easy to do
of course having to set up your phone again is always a pain.... but eh you'll get a 100% clean fresh install

Im hearing reports about audio codec problems using the Pandora and or Slacker app. I just tried using them and indeed they sound like AM radio stations.Is anyone else noticing this or is it a placebo effect? Would updating to .6 help?
Still a problem. this is a 2.2 problem and no matter what build of froyo your on you will have the issue. Pandora is working on it from what i read on the forums.

I keep hearing about this with Pandora (Knock on wood), but I listen to Pandora pretty much daily in my truck, through a 3.5 male x2 and it sounds fine. I listen to it pretty loud, the quality "for me" is about the same as Sirius thats built into the deck. I had been getting a little but of pop from the highs when I had the deck & phone near max volume, but since updating to .3 thats gone. Deffinately not getting this "AM quality" sound people are talking about.
Is practically the same still runs really good battery I don't see any changes and I use my phone a lot at work and home like rite now lol, so I just going to stick with this and call it off I hate installing all my all over so your best choice is mybackup or app brain just like they say Pandora still sounds like crap
