Yep, I'd file a police report just for this reason. You can get your serial number from the box, if you still have it.

It does 2 things. One, pawn shops have to check the stolen records database when they buy stuff to make sure it wasn't stolen. If it was, they report it to the police.

Second is that if someone tries to activate the phone on their line, Verizon will catch them. I think you have to call Verizon and send them the police report for this. I am not 100% sure how it works cause I have never done it, but a friend did with his BB.

And you, and your insurer, aren't financially responsible for the deer's injuries. And no survivor payments to deal with.

Dude I live in Idaho, everyone has a gun here. And I have been waiting but so far no one has come. Kind of disappointed actually.
 
Not sure what is worse. Having my phone stolen or getting f'd with by the person who stole my phone. I left it at a eating establishment and when I realized it 3 hrs later. I tried calling it. The first time someone answered it sounded like a child or someone acting like one. The second time someone answered and was like yea my 10 year old took it and I need to give it back to you. meet me at such and such location in 10 mins. 2 hrs later I have my wife remotley turn on the phone and text it. He said 10 more mins. Then after having my wife remotley turn on the phone 2 more times trying to call it. He must of pulled the battery. I wish I had gps turned on becasue then i could of tracked homeboy down and put on a beat down. I am kind of pissed.

I know this doesn't mean much, but next time get Lookout.

With Lookout, you do not need GPS enabled to track your phone.

However, without GPS enabled it's not as accurate but it's still close.

Try pissing them off with insulting texts and mms. If it works you'll atleast get the satisfaction. May be some kid that will take it to heart.

Did you have Google Lattitude installed and enabled? That's a free app that's great for finding out where your friends are. The phone app updates either by cell tower triagulation (which is not that accurate) or if GPS is enabled you can see their location on the map down to the street address. You can also view Latitude on a computer. Of course it also shows your location in addition to your friends locations so you could use it to track a phone

Gps was turned off and latitude was not turned on for battery life.
I reported it stolen after I did not get it back when trying to meet the dick.
The worst part is not the phone being gone. I went to colorado with my family took over 600 pics and to lose that is what pisses me off the most. Thank goodness I uploaded about 150 to facebook.
 
Sorry to hear about that buff...I don't know how or if you plan on replacing your Dinc...but I have one listed for sale in the classifieds section...sorry to hear about your pics as well...
 
with all the tools for tracking down a stolen smart phone these days, it's a wonder people still steal them

I guess it's still profitable and still possible to get away with it though when the owner doesn't have one of those tools installed.
 
I wish thieves knew that, and yeah theres a lot of options now...droid 2, droid x, DInc, the upcoming Fascinate, etc. :)
