I am currently sitting on my laptop using the Sprint hotspot 4G service in Oakville right now. I used it all day yesterday and it worked great all day.

I pulled a 3800kbps download early this morning on Flamingo and Pines Blvd with a weak 4G signal.... then it dropped once I got onto I75 :D

It's sprint, they said Cincinnati, Columbus, and Cleveland were among the cities to be getting 4G by the end of the year.

It won't show up on the 4G map until they're done installing coverage. Typically you'll see a lot of spotty coverage and poor speeds at random until the coverage is finished.

Good to know. I read Cincy and Cleve, but Cols was left out of what I read. That excites me though.

Where is the best place (website from phone) to do a speed test ? thanks

For a website speakeasy is pretty good or you could just use the speedtest app although it is pretty flaky sometimes ie: places me with servers in Omaha sometimes while I'm in Miami.

you guys are killing me with these speed tests. I'm in Doral during the day and Kendall at night....I don't even sniff a second of 4G.

This phone is amazing but no Root for 2.2 and no 4G is driving me nuts. I'm checking message boards and other sites every five minutes! I've got to be waisting about 45 minutes a day just searching for updates.

I do not know if this has been said or not but here goes. Everyone that is picking up 4G in the orlando area is getting it from the Clearwire buildout. they have been bring up site rapidly for the Sept deployment. I know htis becasue I am a contractor building these sites. I also have an EVO. the best speeds I have seen so far are on 50 between 408 and alafaya. I have posted 4.6 MBPS down and 2.3 MBPS up. As clearwire gets closer to completeing its network everyone on sprint with 4G cap will see better coverage. I have heard rumors that some of the clearwire techs in the feild are posting 7.0 down and higher. keep in mind this is with no traffic.

Sure is nice to have a faster connection on my phone than my house. and boy are are the apple iphoners jealous at work........

Can you give us an idea of the coverage outside of Metro Orlando like how far out? Will Sanford, Deltona, Daytona, Deland, Haines City area, Clermont be getting 4G as well? Anymore info will be appreciated!

I did not unfortunately i was too excited that it just slipped my mind and I needed to rush back to work, browser was lightening fast thou for the 2 min i was able to use it.

I was hoping working in Worthington (~4-5 miles SW of Polaris), I would get a signal. :( I'm heading to Polaris later to confirm. There are at least 2 Sprint stores up there... wonder if they can confirm?

But this is EXCELLENT news! I heard Sprint didn't think Columbus was large enough to set up yet and that they want to connect the larger cities first so they can brag about the number of users faster. But supposedly Columbus is the 15th largest city in the country?

So, September is the official month Orlando gets full-time working 4G?

I wish it was that easy. The system should be in place and running. BUT they will be optimizing and doing infill sites well after that. Not to mention the sites that can not be completed before launch...

Th tampa area is being built out now. their lauch date is a little further out I think. I am not doing any work in that market. Sanford should be included in this orlando launch. The exspantion to the other cities will take time.

Columbus proper is very big, but the metro size isn't that big, which is what they'd care about. But they've given service to places like Raleigh, Jacksonville, Syracuse, etc., while places like Phoenix and Detroit have gone untouched, so I don't think its entirely a size argument.
