I ordered mine on the 13th as well from Va. Beach and it came a few minutes ago. Mine was shipped from the same place too, West Chester, PA.

so my phone finally left Memphis last night headed for Chicago Il. (actually south suburbs but close enough). I called Fedex and asked if i could pick it up from the facility tomorrow although he gave me no direct number to them. He said this would be possible as long as it arrives tomorrow. (which it will its only a 8 hour drive). I have heard from other people about getting other products and not being able to do this. Or something with Verizon might not let it happen until after one delivery attempt. Now what do you all think? Do you guys think i will have trouble doing this tomorrow?

I really really really don't want to burst your bubble, but if the ship-by date that Verizon gave you was the 25th, then that's only the date that they're required to actually SHIP it by. You don't have to receive it by then. They can ship it on the 25th, and you receive it on the 27th, and they still don't have to credit you $25.
Sorry.I just wanted you to know in case it really does take that long for some reason, and you have to bring it up to them.
Speaking of this, WTF @ the $25 credit? How does that make up for taking so long?
My ship by date is by the 26th and I was told this morning by CSR that it might ship out then or maybe even a day or two later and that my overnight shipping wasn't valid and that all droid shipments where 2 day shipping. Needless to say I was not happy about that.

Curse living in Virginia and the order being fulfilled by a warehouse in California. I'm now only 5 days from the original ship date of the 25th, so I've resigned myself to the fact that I won't see the phone before next Friday.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS I just got me shipping confirmation email it says it will get here on Monday since today is Friday. Ordered mine on 8/7 getting it on 8/23, that's just 2 days behind the will ship by data which by the way was 8/25. I live in Cali and its shipping from Ontario, California.
Same here. ordered on the 7th in store and it will be here monday the 23rd. should have got that overnight shipping!
oh well at least i know it is on the way

If it makes you feel better, I just got a shipping notification. I ordered on 8/7 in-store. The tracking says its coming out of Ontario. And I live in Orange County. Hopefully we'll be seeing more people on the West Coast getting theirs soon.

Are you sure about that? Just for giggles, when I was in the Verizon store this week getting my son's phone replaced under warranty, I asked if they had any DX's in stock. The CSR didn't even look up at me, he just started laughing.

No, nothings a guarantee but I have so many store options around here, chances would have been pretty good I would be able to find one.
I think I should rephrase my original post to I will never order a back ordered phone over the net again. The suspense was kinda fun the first week but got old as I kept reading other people getting theirs after less than a week.
For the record, Verizons CS has always been good for me over the phone. In store it has been spoty at best. I was given a free extended battery over nighted to me when I had a battery issue a few years back. Also had a replacement phone over nighted when it broke under warranty. Not to mention all the little things they have helped me with over the years.
