Trillian for android

I'm not having near the positive experience, running Droid with 2.2 I get a FC anytime I try to comeback to the program, with out fail. Ideas? I submitted a bug report to Trillian ref this.

Random errors i've had so far: messages not being sent in FB and AIM. What i say and what is replied getting piled on top of eachother so i can't read what they said, cause it is overlapping what i wrote. Only happened a few times, but worth noting.

Battery life is ok. Seems better then eBuddy, but i could be wrong.

No persistent presence in the notification bar and the fact that, if I don't have the buddy list open, after 20 minutes I have to sign back in to it is the only thing that keeps me from adopting this as my permanent IM client of choice.

WLM works fine for me, I was IM'ing people from Trillian today and didn't have any problems.
I don't get why you need persistence, you get alerts if you get a new IM and the screen is asleep or your using another app.
I didn't have the 20 minute issue, my phone was asleep for much longer then 20 minutes (probably an hour) and I didn't have to sign back in.

My little update: Yesterday the app was force closing like there was no tomorrow :(

I mainly use MSN droid X for messenger atm, but comming from an iPhone which has the official client I really miss that; and am still not fully comfortable with MSN Droid X.
Trillian is good;
I like: The interface, The fact it allows me to stay signed in on msn
I dislike: The speed at pulling in responses when my phone is in standby or another app, no continuing notification, no custom sound, and the small text. Still, this could be a good app; but for now I am sticking with MSN Droid X

Kev.

It's probably not draining batteries cause it's not doing anything from the reviews... If msgs are not sent / received, then what good is the IM app? The drain must be from FC's LOL...

I'll wait till it gets polished...

Excellent app. I've been using the desktop version of trillian for years, it's the best all in one im client. So far so great on my X, works perfectly with no issues and no battery drain.

Mine was doing that, couldn't do a THING, and I even created another account (which fixed my issue). But now my original account is working fine. Not sure what the heck the problem was, but I'm guessing it was something network related. The messages it was sending to them (debug messages) said something about Java something-or-other failing to load.

gave it a test run for a day. if I dont use it for ten minutes and go back into it, it force closes. essentially makes it useless to me, back to gtalk for now.

Trillian is alsome, I have been using palringo but Trillian is much better. One addition that would make it better would be a status in the notification bar or a widget you can put on your home screen.

How come I can't find Trillian in the Market?

-------

Nevermind, I went to the website, but the browser on my phone will not allow me to download the .apk file. Anybody can help me out here?

i download this app. heard its all good and that. when i try to connect to windows live messenger and i put my hotmail adress and it doesnt connect. does any1 else have the same issue?

I have no issues with this program. You may have to get an astra account first before you can connect. I own the desktop version. Having an astra account I think helps with connecting to the services

^that. I needed to sign up for an astra acct and then my WLM and Talk services work fine.

Thank you for posting that this is out (even though it's in "beta"), my phone is now complete.. I use Trillian at home, I now have a familiar and trusted IM app for my phone..

Its there, but its very buggy, even I am a very satisfied user of Trillian, I use it on all my PCs and my notebook ..... I just bought my HTC Desire and the very first thing I did was to search Trillian for Android. I was happy to see, its there but alas it crashes the moment I put my master credentials ...... its still in Beta so one can understand ..... hope to see its final release soon ....

@n0ct3m ..... Trillian UI, integration and features are far better than Meebo ..... Try using it on Windows 7 and you will know .....

This is one I am anxious to see. I have been a long-time Trillian user on PC. Really looking forward to having it on mobile too. Should be the best.

check "allow unknown sources" in the apps settings.

I'm getting a few FCs, but I have JIT enabled on my eris so it may be that...

I am using the built in gtalk app for gtalk when needed and the only other service I use is AIM. My question is which app is better on the battery, the Trillian Beta or the Official AIM app? I know the AIM app had battery draining problems a few months back but I do not know about now..

Thank for any opinions!
