Launcher Pro Lag?

Greatest home replacement, but sometimes whenever i'm in other apps..i either press the back button or the home button and it takes me to a blank screen of just my background, then all my apps and widgets reload after about 5 seconds..kinda annoying..

any fix or suggestions?

that would suck considering i have my apps and widgets set up on my screens..but then again it does give you back up and restore, no? hmm..

It does allow you to backup and restore. But before you do that, maybe try enabling "Keep in memory" or whatever in the Launcherpro preferences? I THINK it's supposed to help with that. Don't know how well it works though, never tried (I have this problem ONCE in a while).

i'll try that..i think it's set that way by default i believe..what about the memory settings? i have mines on high..did u tamper with that in your launcher pro setting?

Nah, I have never bothered to mess with the memory settings. I thought Keep In Memory was disabled by default since it's still a "experimental" feature.

I enabled it, so far so good. I rarely get that problem though, so who knows when/if I can reproduce the problem, ya know? And now that I think about it, that really only happens when I change something in Launcherpro that requires a reboot of the launcher.

Ah, that'll cause a little lag for sure. I only have two screens; first screen has six apps, second screen has a "large" sized Switchpro widget with six buttons, and four apps. I also have three docks, so that's about 15 apps right there not taking up any screen real estate.

My setup is really efficient and minimal, because I'm lazy and like having the stuff I open most literally at the tip of a thumb, haha.

i feel that...mind sharing your screens so i can see wha they're lookin like?

may have to redo some of mines from gettin an idea from yours

Getting rid of my live wallpaper helped with this some. I want to try leave in memory and see if that improves it more.

selecting the lock in memory option should keep this from happening as launcherpro won't be killed then have to restart when you go back to home.

there is an option called either keep in memory or lock in memory under the preferences, just turn this on and your problem should be solved.

Just turned on my "keep in memory" setting, I was having the same blank screen problem the OP talked about. lets see if this makes a difference!

stay clean..how did you get the extra launcher pro icons? is it in the pro version?

Nah, the only thing that comes with the paid version are some widgets that are more or less AOSP replacements for some Sense widgets I believe.

Got the icons from here:

I really like the glass-y icon style a lot. The actual LauncherPro website has a forum, and there should be a Themes & Icons subforum or something along those lines. Has links to other LP icon sites and whatnot, so if you want something more colorful, check that out as well.

am i the only one that has some lag while swiping screens with launcher pro? most of the time it is smooth but sometimes it starts lagging and i have to go into launcher pro settings and restart launcher pro and that will fix it. am i the only one? maybe im too anal about this stuff but i do notice some lag while swiping screens SOMETIMES

The only lag I've had with Launcher Pro was actually solved by turning "Keep In Memory" back off. I turned it on to try out, and after a few days had lag when returning to the home screen (from an app or from sleep).

Disabled, works great again.

I actually got a lot better response suddenly after I switched to ADW (using home switcher), and then came back to LauncherPro about 5 minutes later.
Really can't explain why, but now I do it every few days just to keep.
Restarting LauncherPro doesn't have the same effect.
