For those who just ordered here are the stages of the DX waiting process. Feel free to add anything I missed:
Stage 1: Just ordered and accepted the fact that the phone is backordered and you're on the list. Start looking at YouTube videos and researching apps. Join DX Forum to hear others' experiences.
Stage 2: Call Verizon and ask if there's been an update to the shipping status. Be polite when they tell you 'no'. Keep reading the DX forums.
Stage 3: Discover that customers who placed their order after you are already receiving tracking numbers. Try to make sense of it all by analyzing order methods and locations. Call Verzion, get same response as last time. Hang up without saying good-bye this time.
Stage 4: Start getting upset at those posting that their DX arrived today and they placed the order just a week ago. Call Verzion, demand an answer. Get transferred to a supervisor who swears it's first-come first-serve.
Stage 5: Start losing interest in the phone all together. Forget the reason you ordered it in the first place. Post comments on forum about how Verizon has really dropped the ball. Call Verizon and threaten to buy an iPhone.
Stage 6: Get a notification that your order has shipped. Get super excited and post the good news on the DX Forum. Call FedEx and ask them what the hell is taking so long.
Stage 7: ??? (To be determined for me.. Will let you know once I receive it.. But will probably take a few days for me to put the phone down to post the response.)

Sooooooo, this is a stupid question, but i'll ask it anyway.... i'm pretty satisfied with my ship by date of the 31st (ordered online on the 16th in the am, alabama). as i STILL check the order status every 2 hours, but like i said, i'm satisfied with my Ship By Date.
What are the Chances of me NOT receiving the DX by the end of next week?

Man that is a real good question because this mess is gettin' real scary right now. No joke. I'm startin' to feel like there is two things that could happen. 1. Verizon is goin' to do a mass update and send out a lot of conformation emails at one time, or 2. we are goin' to go past our so call "will be shipped by date"!!! I'm like you man. I want my phone.

Just got off phone with rep and claims by order didnt fully go through until the 20th and itll be by sep 7th!!!

Man I've noticed that those reps are about more confused than we are. Call 1(866) 338-7390 just to make sure. That's the online team that handle the online orders. Goodluck man. I know how you feel because that's the last thing I want to hear. If they told me that at this moment. I'd probably can my order and jus' order the incredible LOL!!! Anyways goodluck man!!!
By the way. Where did you say you were located at?
I believe we are behind because I think the we are gonna get our shipments from the Memphis warehouse and there are so many people that ordered earlier than us and I believe Memphis is not stocked up to well, but hopefully we all will hear something real soon. I constantly check my email all day. I'm tired of this. This has been a tough last few days for me. It really has been and experience out of the ordinary for me.
Sorry to hear that man. I feel for you. I ordered mine on the 18th and mine processed on the 18th. I'm sure glad it did. Sorry man.

Mine is at the top of my receipt after the location number. It starts with the pound sign (#) and is a 6 digit number.
Hello, newb here. Coming from a BB Tour that's been driving me nuts. Had a Curve before that. The Tour has been so laggy lately I had to get a new phone. Ordered my X last Monday, just got the shipping email today, so about 10 days. Not too bad.

Where are you located at and when did you place your order and what "will be shipped by date" did they give you initially? And what time did you receive your conformation email?
Why wouldn't he look up your order man? Was it that guy named Shane?
Maybe he is busy helping a customer in the store. I would just call CS, they can get it for you.
