Where are you located at and when did you place your order and what "will be shipped by date" did they give you initially? And what time did you receive your conformation email?

I knew I forgot to post some info. I'm in Champaign. IL. Ordered on the website Monday, Aug. 16th about 4AM. Was quoted the 31st as that's what the website was saying. Got my email at 4:02 PM today, overnight from Memphis.

So, it arrived at the FedEx destination facility today around 4pm, maybe 15minutes from my house. I was so anxious I called FedEx to ask if I could pick up in person tonight (which I've done before, but only after a missed delivery attempt), and FedEx told me NO! AHHH!!! lol...

So, now I'm at their whimsy for arrival tomorrow. I hope it's early while I'm home, but it only says "By 7pm" :(

spoke with the actual cs rep (not online cs) and he said that he sees i ordered on 8/17 and that it shud be shipped out 8/31. after i told him that the other rep said 9/7 he said he wud put it in the system for 8/31...


so now we will see

Damnit! Now I know what people were talking about seeing people that ordered it after them getting it before them. Sigh
 
This is my first post on this site, but I really like what I'm seeing in these forums thus far. Much more civil than previous places I have been. I ordered my Droid X on the 10th of August in-store. Granted, it was after I got off from work, so it was toward the end of the day. Nevertheless, I haven't received any email from Verizon. The only thing I was told was that the phone was guaranteed to be shipped by the 25th of August.

I called customer support yesterday to see if they had any more information. They confirmed to me what I already knew based on the lack of email - they still have no idea when this thing is going to ship out. With all due respect to everyone here, I am rather upset to see that there are people that have ordered after me and gotten their phone sooner. As one person in this thread said, there's no real order to it from what everyone can discern. This upsets me.

Yesterday's phone call to customer support really had me thinking that what's going to end up happening is that I won't have the phone by the time they promised. If that is the case, I may just cancel the order and keep running the crappy BlackBerry Storm 9530 until something better comes along (of course, that depends on whether or not I can get it). It's just a hunch, but since I'm paying for this phone full retail price, I feel like I'm being treated like a second-class customer compared to the people that are signing a two-year agreement with the purchase of this phone.

I apologize for my rant and negativity. Thank you for this thread.

I'm going to reply to my own post just to try and contribute in a positive manner after the extremely negative rant that I posted previously. I called Verizon Monday afternoon and got a rude representative who cut me off in the middle of my sentence and told me that I should receive the phone the next day. I wasn't incredibly happy with the way that he cut me off, but I was happy to hear that my Droid X was on the way. I was assured that I would receive the phone via FedEx before 3PM the next day. I was not home, but I was told by my brother that the package arrived around noon.

All in all, I ordered it on the 10th and got it on the 24th. Verizon delivered on their promise and now I'm going through the painstaking process of deciding how to customize the phone to my liking and also getting all the apps I enjoy so much. I'm coming from BlackBerry, so I'm pretty much starting from scratch. I am very satisfied with everything on the phone so far.
 
When I try pulling my order up on the order status page I get "Page is not currently available"


Finally got my shipment notice tonight.
Ordered on phone 8/14
Ship Notification 8/24
Delivery by 7pm 8/26

As far as problems with online order sight...a CS rep finally gave me the scoop. For people that place their orders by phone, you will get nothing but an error message until the order ships. Basically the system has nothing until the order hits Fedex for shipping and at that time you should get something to come up on the verizon order site (big relief tonight when I finally got something back other than an error message).
 
So I received my DX on the 23rd.

Ordered 8-8-10 at 6:30am (via internet)
Shipped from Ontario, Ca 8-22-10
Delivered 8-23-10 (sometime before noon)

I noticed there is a manufactured date on the box, 8/18/10 6:28am. So they didn't even have a phone to sell me for 10 days, lol.

BTW I have read reports on the net about them shipping with 2.2, mine is still 2.1 so at least as of 8/18 they were not shipping with 2.2 and the reports were bs.

***FedEx came around 9am this morning, so I got it finally!

Hello, newb here. Coming from a BB Tour that's been driving me nuts. Had a Curve before that. The Tour has been so laggy lately I had to get a new phone. Ordered my X last Monday, just got the shipping email today, so about 10 days. Not too bad.

I was honestly quite surprised when I got the email. My estimated ship date was 9/7/10 like most people at the time when I ordered, so I wasn't expecting anything (by way of email confirmation) until possibly next week at the earliest.

Do you know what warehouse yours is coming from?

All it says with the tracking information on the FedEx website is:
Picked up: West Chester, PA (7:31am on 8/24)
Left FedEx origin facility: Coatesville, PA (9:31pm on 8/24)
So I believe from West Chester, PA (if that's one of the warehouse locations, I'm not entirely sure).


wow. 2 business days. that's crazy fast. replacement phones are hardly shipping out that fast.

Yeah I know, I've been following the difference between the date when people order it and the date they actually receive it and mines quite a bit different than most. Hopefully this means good news for those ordering it now. I won't believe it until I actually have it in my hands though.
 
My X is coming today, WOO HOO! It's on the last leg of it's trip from Ontario, CA right now, the little FedEx Cessna Caravan (Single Turboprop Transport, http://photos.vox.flightaware.com/photos/retriever/4a62a9425907eb41422e94f7258ff85d6fb58f42 ) will be leaving Sacramento International (SMF) on a 45 minute flight to the Ukiah Muni Airport (KUKI) in about a half an hour, then it's an unload at the FedEx Facility (also located the the Ukiah Muni Airport), and finally a 10 mile drive north to my place in Redwood Valley via FedEx Delivery Truck.
