Handset Availability

Many of my friends are sat waiting for Desire handsets to come into stock with their carriers. Seems that there is a bit of a shortage.
Reasons given by the carriers range from:

• HTC Can't make 'em fast enough
• There is a problem with the screens so a load had to be recalled
• Saying that they are out of stock so as to push the Galaxy S
• Shops have all the stock

It doesn't really matter but my perception is that there is a general shortage of them out there. Where did you get yours or are you waiting like my mates?

What network are you trying to get one from?

CPW has them in stock online & probably will have them in stock in your local shop. Another advantage would be is that they supply unbranded handsets.

It's a bit of a mix to be fair, the majority are waiting for Orange, but there are a few on other networks. It appears to me that the packages that they have been offered by Orange direct cannot be matched by CPW for some reason

Fair enough, can't argue with that.

I'd definitely recommend flashing a generic ROM though if buying from orange. Loaded with bloatware!!
